My cpu got old that sometimes drops under 25 fps and make playing hard-kill pleasure, so i'm going to buy a new decent one:

i3 3,5 ghz - 8gb ram - ati hd7850.

Any comments or suggestions about it?

I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with an

AMD FX8320 3.5ghz,
8gb ram and a
Radeon R9 280x 3gb.

You suggest me to buy this processor and change Bios options for stable Mwo or never buy it?

For this game the sensible cpu choice is the 4690K, z97 board and 8GB memory.

If that's over budget a cheaper locked i5 and a much cheaper board is secondbest.

If that's over budget as well I recommend a pentium 3258 and an asrock H81M-HDS, combo usually overclocks to well over 4 GHz. Many games want per core performance, and this is one of them.

If you want to go beyond overclocked i5 I recommend skipping the 4790K and going to the 5820K.

I'm running a FX8320 with 8gb 1600 Ram with a R9 270x 4gb card, and the game runs so smooth and fast with everything maxed out on DX 11, running in full HD on my 32" LCD at home.

Go for an i5 if you can. MWO does much better with quad cores. The ram and Video card will do fine for the game.

u will most definitely be dissapointed with an i3, get yourself a 3ghz+ i5. if you have to save popcans and beer cans to do so it will be worth it trust me.

I like your setup, so I should be a little under but in the ballpark of your performance. thanks guys for the reassurance on this. :)

I have a FX8320 @ 4.5GHz with a GTX770 though. I get 60 fps all day on the newest maps but it drops into the 30's and 40's on the older ones like forest colony and frozen city.

You absolutely need an overclockable core i5... stay well away from i3.
you need to get over 4-4.3 GHz and you will get much better framerate.

depends on your resolution, might be able to live with less if you only need 1080p

Resolution makes little difference to CPU requirement. In fact, back when I did an actual test on CPU bottleneck in this game, there was no difference between 1080P and 1024x768. Churning more pixels just puts stress on the GPU, since it doesn't, say, create more particles to be processed (number of entities stays the same), or put more battlemechs on screen.

I definitely agree though, an i5 at 4GHZ is pretty much the minimum for good, smooth gameplay.

Apparently the bigger graphics card is making the difference. I finally got my Wee Beastie working today I averaged 75fps on Very High settings, Post AA and Damage glow. The lowest I ever saw it go was 60fps on Frozen City.

My jaw has dropped so hard it cracked the linoleum with how incredible a difference this is with a 27" max resolution screen too.

I can finally play this game like it says on the tin after almost 15 months of slogging through 5-20fps.

I feel like I got pardoned from prison!... but still suck. LOL Seems that there's only a sleight improvement in my gameplay.

Built my nephew a new computer last christmas 8350 stock 8gig 1866mhz ram r9 280x runs game 45 to 55 at highest setting and 1900 res no overclock he happy.

I had a old 645 quad core running 3.2ghz and 8 gigs ram and a r9 270x ran game at res 1440 at medium to low setting with 20 to 40 frames usually hung in the 22 to 29 range. Freind sold me his 4 month part so now running new system.

I7 4770 K stock 8 gigs of 2133mhz ram running at 1866mhz mechwarior online did like the higher speed and the same r9 270x card with vsynce on running low 50 usually holds at 58 fps but i run it with vsynce off it a old monitor and low res but don;t have the frame rate drops so I am happy.

Now i just need a new graphics card a 970 would be nice and pull less power with over doubkle performance but waiting now. love the game because now I play on high and see so much more wow factor it beautifukl can;t wait for Swamp and all the green.

Bullseye, I'd wait to see what AMD has in store. Continuing information leaks show Pirate Islands looks to be getting ready to ship and release, with specs holding steady at 4096 stream processors, 4GB of 1.25GHZ HBM VRAM and 20nm fabrication. The stream processor count alone would, with absolutely, positively, no memory or architectural benefits over the 290X, put the 390X at something like 45% faster, and 15-20% faster than the GTX 980. That margin could climb consideably with further improvemens (or drop considerably if the specs are crap, but they look solid).

The GTX 960 is also coming out. In fact, Pirate Islands and 960 shipping information were leaked together
