using the minimap grid in its current form takes too much time (at least for me), it does have a lot of potential for tactics and stuff, but since your mech is always the centre of the world, it is very hard to navigate
i think it should not take a long time to code it in (large map is static all the time)
talking about tactics, can we also get a way to scroll in chat (arrows on keyboard maybe) or let it stay on screen?

Yes, that would be okay if you can turn it on and off.
My # 1 about the map is that my mech does not Stop when I am looking at it.... wtf

That depends on what you've toggled for thrust controls in the game settings...either you can use classic MW style, where you throttle up and the mech keeps going, or the FPS style where you stop pressing the movement keys & your mech stops as a result.
