Not really a gauss rifle, though. A gauss rifle is a coilgun, that's a railgun.

Yeah I wonder why they went the railgun route instead of developing a coil gun. Seems like a coil gun would be easier.

Im pretty sure they went railgun because they are implementing new magentic driven catapults instead of steam catapults and the technology carried over to the weapons side
