I agree with the "advance" ground troop combat if anything. You have more mobility than tanks. Less mobility than air. While I am busy stating the obvious battlemech combat it is like nothing else. But if I had to pick a feel to compare it (besides awesomeness) it would be ground combat.

Look at this old James Toney clip. Imagine an Atlas/Orion firing that big right side gun and twisting out of the way to better absorb the brunt of the counter attack.

James Toney got hit WAY LESS than any Atlas ever did.

But yeah, has similarities to boxing.

I say it's like ship combat.
You can not use effective armor like tanks, it's only the HP of each component that protects you from death and its all about the right positioning and more important the right timing to send in your "fleet" and unleash all the firepower at once.

Yes it is a combination of INFANTRY movement with 20th century navel firepower. You are essentially an armored soldier that has to move with a team and utilize terrain (for best outcomes, you of course can choose your own adventure!) but your fire platform, armor, and weapon styles are much more akin to destroyers and battleships.

If clan 1 on 1 were actually used be very boxing like otherwise.

Wrestlemania Battle Royal pile them all onto the ring.

Sure might be some teams but in the end everyone firing away trying to get the most they can.
