Realistically those lasers are heat based, it only makes sense for the objects around the shot to heat up slightly and take damage. Even if it is barely noticeable.

I think I understand what you are saying but this would only apply if the radius crossed another location. Whay kind of radius are you proposing?

Adding Heat to a laser hit is an old Battletech mechanic. It sounds neat on one hand, but for MWO I'm going to have to argue against it.
