currently my one man units contract ran out, I am going to renew it on sunday, so this is a chance for others without contract to join wolf and forming a unit. (because currently people contracted can not join units even if having the same faction).

when?
did they fixed that?
All i knwo is trying to invite someone beign wolf failed due to contract differencies, and forum reports similar stuff.
Maybe it has to do with contract duration? I was on a 2 month or something contract and the unit I joined is permanent.

so maybe it only works when personal contract is shorter than unit contract, but the other way aroudn seems impossible.

Has to be the same contract though. Been trying for several days after you sent the invite and it wasn't working. Now that it's up though, I like my new colors.
As for a player and unit having the same but differing intervals, I can't comment on that as I haven't experienced that scenario.

No ShadowWolf, it has not been the same contract length.
We temp tag people daily without issue.

Permanent and temporary contracts are two differing loyalty models and largely incompatible. You may need to have your existing temporary contract and any buffer time for cancelling where this is the case to completey expire before joining a unit with a permanent allegiance to a faction.
I think (emphasis think) it works something like this:
UNIT / PLAYER
TEMP / TEMP = No issue but if cancelling may leave buffer time.*
TEMP / PERM = Player needs to cancel contract and ride time* before joining.
PERM / TEMP = Ride contract time till expired or ride cancelled contract time*
PERM / PERM = Ride cancel of contract* before joining alternative faction, unsure of perm to perm jump of same faction, might just be a simple thing to do without issue.
* When you cancel a contract term it still leaves a small amount of buffer time though I'm assuming this is relevant and scaleable to the type of contract.
