With the outcome of an unexpected event, I have need for a new computer, as mine was stolen in a robbery this last weekend. Now with a low budget(Because of X-mas for the kids), I'm wondering if you guys have any Computer builds that are around $500. I know that there is a topic already on builds that range from $500 to $1000, but I'd like to hear the best one in your opinion that is around $500. I'd greatly appreciate your responses, and I hope you have a good X-mas. ~Scout Derek

Just an example ^^^^ and you can add your own Video Card later when you get the money.

Your best solution is to build a PC from scratch.

I put this together real quick for you on Newegg. It's close to $500. You could delay the video card although I think the built in will suck for MWO. You can add more RAM later. You can save money with a slower processor, although its kinda throwing money away in the sense that the old one is tossed on the upgrade. (whereas you can just buy another more stick of RAM to expand from 8 to 16)

Let's see how well this paste's from newegg. If you PM me your email I can email it.

Ok I sorta conquered the crappy editor on this forum. heh. There is no DVD player there. I have an extra Sata DVD RW drive (new) that I ordered and then didn't return in time. I'll mail it to you if you send me your snail mail address.

yeah, I decided to make the $500-1000 Thread because SOMEONE(Goose) Kept putting like $700-800 Builds in the under $500 Thread, plus $500 is hardly enough for a gaming comp (Unless you go AMD FX-4XXX for CPU), $600-700 minimum would be a bit better, might be able to squeeze in a non K i5 with that budget, mainly for MWO.

Thanks Lord, but I'm pretty rusty on remembering on what a video card can do. Can it run the game at a considerable rate?

I'd replace the gigabyte motherboard with an asrock H81M-HDS, as gigabyte limits to 1.2V, hampering the overclock.

The pro btc board is a bit silly with it's printerport, rs232 and 6 pci-e 1x connectors. The hds has 2 more usb ports.

Hey just as a little input here, the R9 270 or R7 260x will run the game MUCH MUCH better than the Gt630

Would definitely go with the 2nd build.

So, Lord, If I run the game on the lowest settings with the 2nd build that doesn't need a monitor, what FPS are we talking about there, also, nice builds you guys have there. I have a local tech store that has many electronics that are mentioned here. Thanks again. ~ Scout Derek

My friend has a R9 270 on an older AMD Athlon X4 processor (quad core I believe) and he;s getting 40-50 on a mix of high and medium settings

That processor recommended can be OC'd a lot I think.

Nice part of that build is that down the line when you have the cash, you toss an i5 or i7 in there and you have a powerful machine on your hands!

also if you want a better mobo (that pro BTC one has a funky setup, I dunno if that's the best choice) and are interested... I have an extra Gigabyte H97-D3H I'd give you for a reasonable price (RMA replacement from Gigabyte, unused... I was impatient and bought a new one rather than wait for RMA :P)
