I am SOOOO glad Alex got rid of the pot-bellied look... that mech was so ugly...

Not pot-bellied, and yet still stocky. Hopefully that will translate into a nice compact in-game model.

Exactly. It is quite masterful how he retained all of the good qualities of the mech, such as the "sad" storm trooper-esque head, great Warhammer-like arm and squat design, yet rid it of the orcish piggy look at the same time. I am not a medium pilot, but it may buy it just because he did such a good job on the redesign.

Now this actually pretty cool. Feels like the Phoenix mediums but looking more high tech.

- Victor VTR-9A, (OMG, please!)

That would never happen because the 9A has the stock 9B loadout, except there's a MG in the LT and 2 Flamers in the RT. And that would cut into Dragon Slayer sales, or the 9A would drive like an Atlas with a 200 engine.

now that you mention it, the PP mechs look kind of primitive next to the Vindicator!

Makes sense too, Vindicators reached production around 2826. where the Shadowhawk and friends where built all near 2550. credit to the art team!

Surely it will lose something in the 3D version (they never keep it up with the concept art), but I hope it is thinner and smaller than the Centurion. With hard to hit hitboxes this mech might be pretty interesting.

Just like cars going from concept to production - the realities of functionality often conflict with the dreams of design.

Yeah, and it's a bigger door than the 5 tubes need. Hopefully room for more missiles behind that door.
