For balance I'm hoping that in a Inner Sphere vs Clan match it'll be 12 vs 10 those omnimechs when they first show up would take away any number advantage...."We got them out manned!!!.....(1min later)pszzzzz..."Tango lead is your lance covering the right flank....tango lead please come in!"

I vote for 64v64 player battles. Just Because.

There is no unit organization in the Inner Sphere that has a 64-person order of battle unless you have 5 companies of mixed 'mechs and tanks plus 2 lances of aerospace fighters.

And I agree that any clan battles in the future should be company vs binary.

people are expecting the coming Clan invasion so they're putting together their "clan units". They can't offically be Clans till there is the invasion of course.

Not like how I can be of the House of Davion and all that now.

And as far as I know, the game is based around the concept of Lances and Companies, not Stars or Clusters.

Parent is not a founder and has only 6 posts... is it just me, or is this a troll thread?

I love the thought of company level battles. but at some point, I'd love to see a battallion level battle (36 v 36), maybe as a special event(s) or something. would be awesome to see, awesomer to participate in.

Whenever the clans get introduced, the battles should be bumped up to 20v20. That way it will be 5 lances against 4 stars. Nice and even.

Could you please now do the 8 hotdog buns vs 12 hotdog pack math for me? I never get it right and you seem to have the math down for it. Thanks. ;)

Need to optimize netcode & make bigger maps just for special event would be stupid
Bring us 32 & maybe 64 ppl battles!
In MWLL (using similar engine) there are 48 ppl battles & they are awesome

I don't know where you're getting this "5vs5" from, as every single video I've seen has been 4vs4, and they've also stated that PvP will be in multiples of 4.(Aka 4vs4 8vs8 12vs12 4vs4vs4 etc) As per your concerns they are sticking to the lore quite tightly, which is good. The question is how or why do you believe they are not.

What does Founder status have to do with it?

Well, hopefull we'll never be able to play as Clanners (which isn't to say that Clan tech won't be available eventually) and so it won't matter.

I am also wondering how being a Founder has to do with anything whatsoever.

I haven't seen anybody suggesting that joining a Clan unit should be mandatory, so as long as you choose not to play as Clanner, you won't have to.

Im torn - We had clan and IS mechs in other games, who used IS tech or mechs? Not many I knew unless it was a specific setup for an IS only game and that was pretty uncommon.

If they introduced clan tech and mechs we would all be switching to lighter/efficient weapons and better mechs IMO. All the IS mechs would rust.

In MW4(+expansions) I usually had around 75% of my lances running Inner Sphere mechs and around 50% of the tech would be IS tech. Dang in MW2 I'd pick a IIC mech that had been a Inner Sphere mech. I think you'd be surprised how many ppl prefer Inner Sphere over clan mechs.

Someone really should get some more basic information as many of you already mentioned.

When it comes to teambuilding obviously some kind of restrictions have to be implemented. Weight restrictions or rolerestrictions of a certain kind.

The Devs can tell whatever they want about role warfare ... 12 Commandos will never beat 12 Atlases.
