In the mechbay, where you can purchase modules, all of the modules except the consumables and a few of the others are locked and unable to be purchased. What do you need to do to unlock them? It doesn't matter which mechs I switch to, the same modules are locked under all of them.

Thanks for your time.

P.S. Is there a way to filter the search results for the forum? I tried looking up information on this using the search feature, but got tired of getting threads from 2012.

You need to unlock in the skills-pilot tree.

They use GXP to unlock and the good ones take quite a long time to earn enough GXP.
Process can be sped up by paying real money to convert from mech XP to general XP.

Q: "What's this 'wall hack' I keep hearing about?"
A: See center-upper-right and far right.

"Seismic Sensor."

Q: What's the difference between XP and GXP?
A: XP is mech variant specific. It applies to unlocks for your mech here.

GXP is general experience, and while it can be used (read: wasted) on unlocking skills for your mech faster, it is better to use them under "Pilot Trees" to unlock modules which are far more valuable.

Quoted is number "5" and "6" of the frequently asked questions thrown into the second post of the Short Question Short Answer thread by me.
I know it is slightly dated, but that entire post is worth reading when you get the chance. ^_^

Click "Skills."
Then there's two options. One is for the mechs. The other is for Modules.

It is ok, the UI is very convoluted. Strangely enough, the previous UI was easier to nagivate.
