Pretty much as the title says. What's your "default" weapon? The one you prefer above all others, the one that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling? When you care enough to send your very best, what barrel do you send it through?

For me? the AC20.

Since Closed Beta. Mind you, in TT, I always liked them, but PPCs were my jam. What's not to love about a 7 ton lightning cannon? But in MWO, for sundry reasons, the PPCs just haven't quite tickled my elmo the same. I tried, but when I hit my groove was when I first tried out the CN9-AH with it's Boom-Stick^tm.

Sneaking up behind enemies, and putting 20 pts of pinpoint hurt, surgically located? Pure gold. Sure, at the time, the "Pros" kept telling me the AC20 was a waste and that the Gauss was better (mind you, the gauss had neither charge up nor was it fragile, at the time). Yeah, lots more heat, lots less range. Didn't care. Nothing said lovin like an AC20 to the face.

Then came the Yen Lo Wang, and my Headshot AC20 mania was truly started..... and then, the Boom-Jager. Never has a mech with SOOOOOOO many weaknesses and tradeoffs caused such butthurt and whinging. Slow? Check! Short Range? Check!High heat? Check! Fragile XL in Barn Door Torsos? Check!

But because people can't watch their 6, and keep letting folks get close, even now, to some degree, the QQ continues. Don't hear it much though, as the HBK-4G is now my choice for Boom-Stick^tm love.

So there you have it. The Runners up?

The totally underrated, and highly efficient AC10, followed by the constantly nerfed whipping boy and fall guy for all of PGIs balancing woes, the PPC/ERPPC. Yup. I like PP-FLD. Deal with it!

in the old MW games, C-ERLL bacuse good range instanthit damage

in MWO CERML becaue they are yellow and with 1 ton i can put loads of them into a mech.

Dont have a real favourite Weapon but like the Woosh of the LRM and that i can give some Firepower to Teammtes far away i dont even see so my Mechs have some supplemental LRM ability if possible.

I dont like:
SRM
Streak
Flamer
Small Laser (any)
PPC/ERPPC
AC2
AC5
(Though use or have used some of these on some Mechs)

This is tricky because quirks often define what I like in what.

I'm not a big A/C10 fan, but put it in a Centurion A with an A/C10 cooldown module, and it becomes rapid fire goodness. I like it better than the A/C20 in the Cent AH. I even prefer it more than the A/C 20 in the Hunch 4G (due to the increased range and versatility of being arm mounted).

Really though, no quirks being counted, maybe the LPLaser (even for IS). If I can effectively group 1 LPLaser with 1 or 2 MLasers in the same location for convergence, it seems so nice. Good punch, similar range and cool down. It is nice.

I know I am technically grouping it with another weapon, but even by itself it is high power with short duration. The trick is finding a good platform to utilize it where it can cool and not need those 2 extra tons (vs a regular LLaser or ER).

Then again, that's the fun of the Mechlab I suppose.

SRMs. Their delivery is an art of its own, but the knowledge that you're tearing the enemy 'Mech apart with every alpha makes them so satisfying.

AC20, i love everything in this weapon. Watching this slow ball of concentrated pain moving in enemy face is pleasure.
Second one is CLPL, i love the sound.

Also, how many people here want to love the LBX weapons? Their sound is awesome! That shotgun effect is nice too, but because of that same shotgun effect they don't do crap.

That gun is the one you want to love, but can't

This is true.
I have one Jäger with DualLBX, before the clans I LOVED to play it, I think its my most played mech after my 4x6SRM Awesome.
But when the clans came and brought the power-creep they totally lost it. Only the Cent can use it decently, but everyone else is better of with an AC10 instead
