I started both of these threads.

Now, I can't actually confirm that the issue lies with the controller as I've found, for that, i'll need some tests done by other people.

Quick Synopsis:

PC will start MWO Normally and will run smoothly and normal unless you connect to a match, once you do it will sit at "connecting" and stress your system to an unusable state. It won't freeze or CTD.

I've discovered 2 possible issues.

1. The Xbox One Controller. You need to install special drivers to use it, and those drivers make the system act really wonky if you install side by side with xbox 360 controller drivers. You can't use both, only one or the other. So maybe this really is the issue. The controller, when plugged in, caused my system to lock up. When I unplugged it, the problem went away.

2. Inventec Drivers. These drivers are being deployed as "Updates" to Realtek Ethernet Chips, and some other companies as well. You can do a quick search in the internet of this issue with windows. There is a bunch of releases being pushed to "Optional Updates" This driver may work for your system but will cause issues possibly.

If you have these drivers and your internet works, Look up your included NIC Via your Motherboard Model, or your System Model and download the ethernet driver for your NIC manually, this is important, if you do not know your exact driver, DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING, you will lose internet until you can find another driver.

-if you have your original motherboard ethernet drivers, Load the disc up and go to the next part:

-delete the driver from system (uninstall) in Device manager and MAKE SURE to delete the driver data as well. Then install the driver you have downloaded already or on your disc.

Restart.

It seems likely that Inventec will be the issue for some. It also seems possible that the Controller I'm using might be somehow causing some kind of conflict with the UI loader in online matches due to Optimization issues or something similar.

Let me know if anyone can verify

I had this same issue with my xbox one controller. I would get disconnected just before the match. I had left the controller plugged in after playing other games.

The strange thing was that this would cause me to lose my connection to the internet all together. I would get a "limited" connection notification from my Belkin router. I would then have to kill MWO manually and disconnect and reconnect to my router to get back to the lobby.

I know this is an old post, but I thought it might help someone else.
