Well some good news and bad news.... the new replacement monitor did not come in as promised yesterday from BenQ. They claim it was shipped as promised Friday and sent to me next day, but couldn't provide a tracking number for it. Seems rather odd to me, but whatever. I was under the impression that BenQ is a quality company for monitors, but I have my doubts after this purchase and the dropped ball on this one. Anyone have experience with BenQ? Bad, good?

I decided to take the defective monitor back out of the box, and try the DVI hook up once again. Same $hit, only would display in 1080P and had lines 3 1/2 wide green lines going through it up and down and had a distorted image even in the splash screen when powering on, and with out anything hooked up to it.

I had heard that if using a HDMI cable on this monitor it will not go higher than 1080P and only at 30 hz refresh. Somebody got their facts mixed up because I had some issues getting it to go 1440P but once I plugged in the hdmi and installed the drivers for the BenQ off the CD, I am now in 1440P. :D

However, I still believe this monitor is defective for sure, as the DVI port should support 1440P no problems. I have only had one other crazy thing happen while using the HDMI port, while surfing the web it started making fuzzy lines off all content displayed on the monitor but stopped doing it after a few seconds. I will have to wait till Monday before I can find out what the status is on the new one coming. But the good news is that I can play with this one now till I get the replacement and at 1440P. Here are my results in the Bog map.

System specs: FX-8350 @ 4.8 ghz

ATI XFX DD 7970 3gb O.C @ 1075 gpu, 1475 Memory

Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3 rev. 2

Samsung 500 gb SSD

Kingston Hyper 8 gb @ 1600hz

New BenQ BL3200PT @1440P

Running Windows 7 64 bit, 64 bit client in MWO

No changes or mods to my Config files in this game

So far I am loving this monitors features, picture Quality is unreal! FPS seem to be better then what I expected with the single 7970. Maybe I can hold off after all for the new cards coming out. :D

Here are the earnings results for this match..... only goes to show just how poor the earnings/rewards really are, just sad.

Here Is pics of the desktop with this beast on it, still working on finishing the granite back splash on the walls, Have to grind and polish out the edges and set them. To the right of my desk is the new 24"x36" wall mount PC build I am working on, granite is all set on it, and I am working on cutting the 1/4 inch thick plexiglass back plates, cut out holes for wires, and building a air tight Plexiglass enclosure for it with filters on one side to make it dust free.

It will look similar to this build, but have granite instead of the 3m carbon wrap as a back ground and will be completely inclosed in Plexiglass with 6" stand offs from the wall mount.

Not a stupid question, and yes I am using the DVI-D that came with the monitor and not a DVI-I one.

Your video card has 1 dvi-d connector and 1 dvi-I connector on the back. Be sure its hooked up to the dvi-d plug or you wont be able to get the full refresh rate your looking for. I have mixed them up a few times after taken my computer apart for a cleaning. Easy to over look.

Display port > DVI-D > HDMI > DVI-I > Analog

I used the supplied DVI-D cord and made sure it was plugged into the correct spot on my card. It was a Lemon monitor guys, BenQ confirmed it in email the other day, they have received the monitor back and have tested it. Thanks for the advise though.
