We have received a report from operatives within the Mercenary Star units that they intend to swap to Liao faction in order to attack the Marik border and upset the NAP.

We have already touched base with Marik ambassadors, and the situation is under control.

We would ask you not to support the actions of the mercenary swarms. Thank you.

Thanks for the assurances and continuing the efforts of maintaining a stable border between our two houses.

It would be sad if these rumours are true. MS could have gone Davion or Steiner if they wanted to fight Marik. Instead they joined the house with the fewest attack lanes in order to…I dunno what. It's not like everyone wouldn't know it was them doing it after 15 minutes. Doesn't really matter- they want those Liao LP, and it's not like Liao is going to have additional attack corridors anytime soon. Might as well get it over with now. ;)

They do it so that their tags stay on a border with a NAP. It happens time and time again.

Whateva floats your boat I guess.

sounds like it is time to change the minimum contract lengths or a 24 hour cooldown when you swap factions

You should lose your tags on planets when you leave a faction.

well as far as i know, Merc Star has respected the NAP between marik and liao, so why would they suddenly want to change that, doesn't make sense to me ? i think its more someone seeing ghosts, and even if they do ... who cares ? its not as if marik and liao leadership would have a falling out over this, yes maybe some ignorant pugs may join, cuz well people want to play games and planets with activity attract activity.

"Operatives."

Lately it's any excuse to vilify MS.

Pugs upset at getting rolled? MS.

Bad sportsmanship in CW? MS.

Units being disruptive? MS.

Trolling happening on a PvP forum? MS.

Cheese tactics? MS.

Rogue units attacking Liao planets, even AFTER it's CONFIRMED not MS? MS.

Frankly, it's getting tiresome. I mean, I've played PvP games with elite clans/guilds/units/groups and have experienced the hate, but now everyone is looking for ANY EXCUSE.

Roadbeer, I understand you're upset that MS preferred to actually PvP in a PvP game instead of let your pet unit have a planet for "RP reasons" (they still got the planet btw) but I wish you would start acting like the mature adult you were a week ago. Thanks.

MS are acting out obvious power and control fantasies in-game.
Good on them.
I look forward to the day when Merc units don't control the balance of power in the IS. They never did in canon and shouldn't do here.
Sure, they won some damn important battles and influenced IS (and Clan) politics and strategy but not to the extent displayed here.
Limit their ability to hop around and dictate the success/failure of Houses/Clans and then watch the people with uncontained power fantasies disappear into the long night, after the prerequisite amount of whinging to PGU and (hopefully) unsuccessful attempts to influence NGNG's "news reports/blogs"...

Well I do know that MS has abided by the NAP between Liao and Marik so far. I also understand that they might hold Marik responsible partially for the whole Star league incident. But , if they decided to go to Liao, they could continue to beat on Davions like they have been. I would also argue , that if it wanted to pressure on Marik because of previous mentioned incident they have two other major factions in Davion and Steiner that would give them the ability for multiple attack lanes.

Edit.. Seeing as the NAP with Liao and Marik was handled a large part on the Liao side by WoL, I think I could safely say to the MS unit... WoL has been in the same shoes that MS is currently is experiencing.

I am really puzzled by what game MS is playing at, is it simply all for tags? Do they aim to see how much they can through their weight around?

ask the "MercStar Recruiter", couple of my team mates received unwelcome pm's signed by Antonius Rex, Hybrid Black, Hann solo and deathy eyes

To clarify, are they trying to recruit your *unit members*, or your *unit*?

On a serious note and for the umpteenth time, MS has yet to not follow suit with a faction we have worked with. As noted we respected the Liao/Marik truce and didnt engage CW until CGB gave us the OK after a certain individuals actions.

I don't speak for MS as I am not a unit leader in MS but that is exactly how things stand.
