Interesting responses.

For those of us who are not addicts, the lowest tier is easily achieved, and it really doesn't make much difference anyway. I don't need a Raven or the cammo or whatever else this "challenge" offers. I don't need Premium Time, either. I really couldn't care less about this "challenge".

For those who are addicts, the other tiers are ... well, for addicts.

So I guess PGI's goal is to get the addicts to play as much as possible.

That's kind of worrisome, to me. Why not make a challenge as attractive as possible, without putting a monkey on some people's backs to be able to reach the higher rewards? This isn't a slot machine, it is supposed to be MW:O. I guess my distaste with this type of "challenge" is that it isn't a challenge at all, rather, it is a grind fest designed to keep the addicts focused on pulling that slot machine lever.

I'd like to see a challenge that is designed to keep people focused on playing MECHWARRIOR for mechwarrior's sake, instead of this casino-style slot machine mind set that has taken root.

Neat, there's a troll/joke build I've wanted to try:
RVN-3L (LRM 20 Carrier)

Please don't run this. It's always a facepalm moment when I see something like it on my team.

Dear PGI, drop the win requirements. Its coin-flipping at best in Puglandia.

I can get the kills and assists on skill alone, wins takes an act of the Dice-God, Nuffle. Nuffle likes suffering, btw.

Thank you for this Event. (nobody said anything like this yet and i feel it needs to be said!)

even if i own ravens already ... i see this as a very "giving" event. and even more interesting: it is kinda themed ... and makes for more colorful mechs as camo is grindable \o/

Also, FWIW: If i'd be a new player, i would try to trial-dragon the shite outta this. trial-dragon with gauss snipering and 40 shots makes it very possible to even get the kills as a new rather unskilled player. That is after you have accustomed yourselves to the gauss-loadup (which is very mucho doable imo)

I see your plan PGI.

Encourage players to take part only to get so frustrated a couple of matches away from winning the mech they turn around and say 'forget it, I'll just buy it' ;)

Seriously though, I always take these events with the attitude of if I'm playing and I get a few points, fine. If I don't get any points it is also fine.

Good luck to all :)

PGI, pleaaaaaaase listen to your playerbase and drop the win requirement!

Last time I ran this kind of event, I was unbelievably stressed out because of how ridiculously frustrating the event was.

Please lower camo to 45... 5 less points = 5 less wins and you know when ELO is against you this could represents up to 3 more hours sometimes, I need those 3 hours in my weekend, like go watch a movie with my daughters.

Just a quick question... if we obtain the Champion Raven, and the mechbay, will it be possible to sell the raven and just keep the mechbay?

Yes. (I've done that on previous challenges)

Hmm, to CW or not to CW, that is the question. I'm thinking CW works out to 1.5 wins per hour and solo cue could be anything from 0 - 6 wins per hour. Kills and assists are irrelevant, as I rarely go without either.

Mostly I like this. The mech is a good one, the mechbay and camo are nice, the statue... meh, but that's just my personal taste. The 3 days of premium are good.

But that win condition. Make the event something about my personal skill, not random luck of the toss. You can't really expect people to carry a team that many times, there is only so much room on the shoulders of these mechs.

Don't change a thing, these challenges are supposed to be, oh what's the word I'm looking for? Challenging!

It should take you an average of 50 matches to get your mech. 90% of people should get it for somewhere between 40-60 matches.

Me? I'm going for the full 50, and expect to finish it before Sunday morning. I suspect it'll take me 120 matches or less.

But it's not challenging. It's grinding.

Well said. That's exactly what it feels like. Flipping a coin.

If you think of it as grinding, it's grinding. If you think about it as 120 chances to absolutely wreck the enemy team's day, and you are earning Premium time cbills while doing it, it's a blast.

Going by the other guy's calculations of 6 hours of play to get the mech, remember that the 3L + XL295 engine plus the included upgrades is worth well over 12 MILLION cbills. So you are getting a 12 mil mech for 6 hours of grinding, which is about what you'd earn normally, and on top of that you are getting the cbills to buy a whole 'nother mech. Essentially you are getting a 100% increase in earnings for this event. Plus the mechbay. Sounds pretty friggin sweet to me.

For any good group this is pretty easy and done quickly. For everyone else...not so much. Therein is the problem: It's once again an event not made for everone, but the "veterans" really with good groups to drop with. It's getting tedious and annoying for a lot of people and I can fully understand their frustration.

The only suggestion I can give is get a good group going - lonewolf playing this will take more time.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Challenge rewards are great, but the distortions in player behavior from challenges, particularly with win requirements, makes it hard to play.
