Yeah, I have heard and read mixed statements the past week on this issue. Some say that 1.3-1.4 is safe for 24/7, but 1.4 is the max for sure that all seem to agree on. I really don't want to push it past 1.35 volts, and I can tune it down to only 1.27 and have a stable 4.7ghz.... I am not sure if the extra 100hz/200/300hz is worth the extra volts. In order to get 4.8 stable I have to crank it to 1.34 or its not completely stable when gaming or in the burn in test. I have not played with to many of the other volt options, I hear you can bump them up just a bit, and it will sometimes allow you to lessen the volts on the cores keeping it stable and give better performance.

To be honest, I still have a bit to learn about the I7's when it comes to OC. My FX-8350 seemed so easy to push vs the new Intel chips. Might just be that I have been used to tweaking AMD systems for so long now... IDK. I will figure it out, just haven't had a lot of time to really play with this new build yet, been working on my house.

Here is my first game of the night.... been sanding and sealing pine base and case board all day. Numbers still look good after enabling speed step in bios and dropping Windows performance plan back down to balanced.
