So if the Founder's Mechs each get a C-Bill Booster on them, does that open the door for other kinds of boosters to be attached to other mechs? If so, this could open the flood gates for a lot of good things...

... or a lot of bad things.

I would expect c-bill and exp boosters for sale... that is how F2P games make their money...

Doesn't sound that bad too me to have boosters on sale. A lot of F2P games do that model. I enjoy a number of them now. I only pay for them to show my appreciation to the company that made the game mostly. I like the benefits but I enjoy most of them the way it is.

They will at launch. However it won't be attached to your mech like the founders boost. It will come from paying a month to month premium account.
Example: Elite founders get 2 months of a free premium account

Cool thing is tho, The Founder Mech Bonus + Premium Stacks

I dont think we will see Mechs with Bonuses after the Game Launch or the Founder Program has stopped taking members...

Tho I woudlnt be suprised if the Company makes these 4 Mechs available to Buy at a later point, some companys do this with Pre-Order Perks and some companys dont

But I wouldnt hate em for it

there are endless possibilities with a $$$ Store, they could offer up Alsorts of Mechwarrior Equipement from Weapons to Heat Sinks and Engines ect with certain perks for real $$$, or could be just cosmetic possibilites... depends on the direction the company decides to take? Pay to be Awesome! or Pay to Look Awesome !

Several times the devs have commented that real money can help you catch up, or get ahead faster, but when it comes to absolute combat terms its going to be skill and playtime. A mech booster would create an unfair balance within the game, forcing instability within the player base. The C-Bill booster is simply that, more money per round. You can get more gear with it, but not raise the absolute cap on what that gear can do.

I'm glad that premium at least reached 50%. I feel that it's a good value for $10 for a game I really want to play. We are all mostly hoping that the boosts attached to mechs will remain in the bonus EXP / C-bills category and $15 sounds like a fair price for a mech with a 25% bonus.

That said, here are some comparisons to other games I play with boosts so you can see where I am coming from:

In another game I play, premium only reaches 20% - 30% and I felt that it wasn't worth it even if it only cost around $6-$7 a month (SDGO). Instead of coming with boosts, the units you buy here come pre-leveled (not max but some exp is already in them) but you still have to get the rest of the levels yourself (you actually break / destroy your units to make new ones so a permanent bonus on them is not a good idea).

On the other hand, the premium deal that Dead Frontier gives (I like blasting zombies in my spare time) is pretty great at $8 and they give you 100% and $8 worth of in-game credit along with it (it's like a permanent founder's pack promo kinda thing). They have an additional booster for 1 day that increases your EXP (stacks with premium) even more but I don't really feel the need to buy it.

The FPS I play (KOS Secret Operations, local version) has a 150% exp/currency booster (account-wide) for just under $6 each month and a permanent 50% exp/currency booster for a one-time fee of around $2.50 I think (this is per character tho, not account-wide so it's like turning your character into a Founder's Premium mech?). It's bugged with stacking with Premium right now but they said they'd fix it :P

Just to add on to that "pay to look awesome" idea, I think a LOT of companies lately have definately realized that cosmetics for cash is acceptable in the gaming community where as the "I buy power." idea is met with plenty of rage. I hope Piranha holds true to the "We sell cosmetics only." idea that has worked so well for many games so far and that they don't BS us like S2 Games did in Heroes of Newerth with their "Early Access Heroes" programs. If you're curious as to what I'm talking about, Google it...

On the brighter side though, League of Legends seems to have grasped the idea of cosmetics perfectly, so there's no reason as to why Piranha can't.

They may go the way of WoT and have "premium mechs" for real currency that have the same or similar C-bill boosts as founder mechs. I doubt they will sell the founder mechs though.

from my understanding from waching the dev videos normal players can earn anything paying players earn it will just take us forever to get it. that said i wouldn't mind if they took TF 2 rout with the equipment.

Hmm I wouldn't like that, I think that TF2's random item find as you play system works fine for it (as well as DotA2) but in this game with the tech trees and advancement in mechs I believe the system will let you choose your equipment upgrades. They have currency for a reason!

I wouldn't be adverse to PGI selling 'Mechs with C-bill boosters on 'em in the future. Say, for the first week after a new chassis is released, you can purchase it from the cash shop with a custom skin and permanent 20% C-bill boost. Costs a couple bucks more than the plain variant, but I bet they'd sell like crazy.

"Booster" reminds me of a trading card game.
Whats wrong with the premium acount concept, you pay for a xp and cbill bonus for a certain time. No matter what mech you use.
And i believe sooner or later premium mechs that are just a regular mech with diferent skin and cbill boost will become available.
As long as they dont go to the gold ammo and "special" premium tanks road that World of Tanks folowed, there will be no issues with it.

I wouldn't hate them for it but I'd feel slightly less unique which is what a Founder should feel (imo)

I'd be happy with them releasing the same mechs with the same bonuses but I'd prefer them to leave something unique to the Founders, even if it is just a skin or a small emblem.

that they do i was referring to salvage i wouldn't mind if there was a random chance that we would get some extra credits once in a while.
