To Buy Or Not To Buy: The Arctic Cheetah

1) Will I get an AS7-S, and if so, when will it arrive?
2) Do you expect the Arctic Cheetah to be a top tier mech? How is it likely to perform? Firestarter with ECM?
3) The site mentions delays in payment processing. Credit card should be nearly instant right?
The Australian dollar has gone down vs the USD recently, so I want to make sure I'm getting plenty of stuff.

Other stats:
- Tonnage: 30
- Speed: 142 (with speed tweak)
- Number of 2.0 Trudubs: 9 (one external Poordub)
- Endo
- Ferro
- Hardwired stuff: 6 JJ
- Pod space: 8 tons
All in all, it will most likely be a great light. Worst case scenario is roughly Jenner level if hitboxes suck, best case scenario is about equal to the Firestarter if hitboxes are good. Beating the FS9 would be hard but it's within the realm of possibility.

"Using all 6-7 energy hardpoints with 8 tons available will give you an overheating mess, the jumpjets will only make it worse. You won't be able to use more hardpoints than an Ice Ferret"
"It will be a miniature Stormcrow with jumpjets, it will be the new subject of all clans are OP threads."

Some silly fools will run it with 6xERML and simply bake. The combo of choice will be either 6xERSL (30 damage) or 6xSPL. (36 damage)
A combo of ERML for extra range and ERSL/SPL might also be nice. Either way, it basically can't suck, because it is reasonably fast and should be able to boat smaller lasers well.
I am sure someone will make a 2xERLL + ECM build, but that would be a little hot for my taste.

The lack of 10th true DHS will probably make 6 x SPL a bit hot for any kind of sustained use. I think I might try 4 x CSPL/2 x CERSL to get another DHS in there.

5 is pretty effective on my IFR-D so I would definitely not feel underequipped for backing with "just" five.
I agree. It's still damage eauivalent to 5 IS ML, plenty OK for a light. I'm SO looking forward to this mech.

High speed (over 140 kph with speed tweak), ECM, at least the same hardpoints as a Jenner-D, and jump-capable.
Before, we had an impossible set of factors - speed, jump jets, weapons payload, and ECM. At best, you could only have 3. Kit Fox lacked speed. Mist Lynx and Spider lacked payload. Firestarters and Jenners had no ECM. Commando, Raven and Cicada lacked jump jets.
Now you have a mech with all 4. The only possible weak areas I can see are the marginally lower armor of 30 tons compared to 35, hitboxes and Clantech cooling issues.

Has anyone read something about that Atlas?

1. Have you read what it takes to qualify for the loyalty mechs?
2. $55 = 4 mechs ($13.75 per), while $120 = 16 mechs ($7.50 per). The latter is the far better deal.

I'm gonna buy the Scat-P, put seven Machine guns on it, and die happy.
Hm....well, I'm not sure if 8.5 tons of ammo will be enough.
I guess a few extra heatsinks for an ERPPC? Strip a quarter ton off the single MG arm.

Perhaps a single CERLL or LRM15 for assist whoring. If the enemy managed to let me live until I burned all my MG ammo, then we already won the match.

cERLL would let you take 10.5 tons; a full Twenty-One-Thousand machine gun bullets.
I would like that. I'm going to use that. (I think I'd still go ERPPC, since the ERLL might be completely heat neutral)

Who the hell would buy the Arctic Cheetah a la carte when the package is $30?
