I'd like to see a return of the Phoenix Mech Packs(I don't own a single chassis out of it *and* I think the (P) variant camo is great). Preorder rewards excluded, I don't think it would be a bad idea to keep the packs in general up for sale indefinitely.

Discuss. :P

No. The Phoenix package was sold with the stipulation it was limited time only. The Clan Wave 1 and 2 and Resistance package should be taken down eventually, too. I don't know why Wave 1 is still available for sale since all the mechs have since been released for C-Bills.

No. This idea was thoroughly shot down when proposed to allow people to qualify for loyalty mechs. Instead wait for them all to have Mastery packs. You won't get the special skin for the Phoenix mechs, but you will get 3 variants of each with every pack.

Besides, the Mastery packs are a better value.

Sad that you think so. I wasn't really playing this game when the Phoenix Mech Sale was a thing, so I never had the chance to invest into it.

Most of the phoenix mechs/variants aren't even that good (Shadow Hawk's day in the sun has passed to an extent). The loyalty/C-Bill bonus variants aren't even the best variants for any of them and you can just buy all of them for spacebucks now anyways.

Except it's kinda meant to be exclusive to those who bought the Phoenix 'mechs:

That's indeed the main reason. That and the (P) cBill Bonus.

Someday maybe there will be a player market. You get your Phoenix t-bag and I get my gold Timbergod.

The thing is... If they release the (P) camo people would demand that it would be adapted to all mechs and you would have a small group of very angry people stirring up all kinds of trouble due to sensibility being a thing of the past.

I personally do not care either way as i did not buy them because of "exclusivity" but because they where a good deal... But why stir up trouble just for the heck of it.

maybe they will leave the clan's up till they start putting out champions and heros so they can make mastery packs.

because if they remove them right now they would lose out on some sales from people la carting things.

TBH, it's not that hard to make the post-Phoenix Pack variants a new "Phoenix Variant" and make it a new/similar deal.

But, I think good simple ideas are Lostech honestly.

I can see the backlash that can come from this point.

All the current grab deals are very much permanent. You can even buy goldmechs still.

14 months after they released that HIGHLY EXCLUSIVE AND EXTREMELY LIMITED grab deal.

We looked into this with Russ before they made Resistance, after a suggestion that they just re-sell Phoenix. We informally polled Phoenix and Founder pack owners to see how they would feel about having those packs re-issued, in whatever form.

While a good chunk of the pack owners really didn't care if they offered them again, there was a significant group who, understandably, would've been really annoyed by PGI offering 'limited' content for sale again. The percentage was a lot higher among Founders, who felt they'd spent more and risked more for their purchased content.

So I don't think PGI will offer Phoenix again, with that feedback in mind. That's part of why they created Resistance in the first place - and it looks like they've avoided the 'limited' language with Resistance and intend to leave it on sale.
