The Zeus is going to be a hybrid of the Battlemaster and the Orion. The Grasshopper is going to be a bigger Quickdraw.

I'd rather moderate quirks for the Zeus that take advantage of its big hit weapons (like giving the AC/5 Zeus decent ballistic quirks and/or decent AC/5 quirks) rather than AMS range any day.

Meanwhile, Clans getting Shadow Cat and Cauldron Born.

I'm still thinking I'll slap 3 LPLs in this thing or 3MPLs, LB10, and SRM4s/6s. Brawler - it feels like a brawler. I don't think I'll be running an AC5 in any of them, though.

Yes the awesome isn't, but the Zeus is a small Atlas, it will be a little bit worse then the Atlas too. -_-

Dual ballistic arm hardpoints equal to eye level and an energy hardpoint above eye level on a 65 tonner with clantech and removable missile hitboxes, all wrapped up in a meta that favors gauss rifles and laser vomit on high hardpoints. If you don't like that you can always just swap out parts for other variants until you are minmaxed for obscene levels of damage in some other configuration. Cauldron Born clearly needs quirks

The Zeus isn't meant to be a brawler, its used as a support unit. i think this is one of the lightest assaults in Battletech.

I thought the Zeus was supposed to suck. It's got terrible geometry and a mixed bag of hardpoints. The quirks make it look like a huge bland pile of "I'm not gonna drive this thin"

Yeah, it's hard to say. Especially that 6S. Then again, the dual AC5 was pretty effective on the Victor, so it's not exactly DOA yet. I'm going to see how it handles once it's Elited. If it isn't all-CT, it'll be able to zombie up, which is unique for any mech in its neighborhood (size-wise).

2AC5s, LPL in the CT, maybe MPLs? Dunno. I'll find something that works. My 4R Enforcer is killing it in CW right now.

Quirks, hitboxes, hardpoint location, engine and tonnage limitations, and prior experience with similar mechs fulfilling similar roles. The Zeus is dead on arrival. It will not be feasible.

Similarly you can conclude based on hardpoint configuration + location, low-profile hitboxes, omnipod customization, equipment possibilities (ECM is great, MASC might be even better), and tonnage restrictions (3 cauldron born + 1 shadow cat drop deck anyone?) that unless the cauldron born and shadow cat receive quirks that make their legs explode every time they fire a gauss rifle they will almost certainly be top tier in CW
