I'm not talking about ECM quirks, so don't worry about that. ECM is plenty good as it is.

What I'm talking about is things like NARC and TAG.

the Raven-3L is the ONLY mech i know of that comes with a TAG stock, and one of the few that has a NARC. what i would propose would be specific quirks for both of those systems.

as it stands, the 3L has %7.5 missile cool down, and %7.5 laser duration. the Missile one does apply to NARC, though its somewhat irrelevant for the actual functionality of the system, but nice. the Energy one has no interaction with TAG at all due to tag being ON or OFF.

Now, i noticed on my Battlemaster 1S that the energy range quirk DID apply to the tag laser (928 meter tag? yes please!) and it got me thinking about things like quirk for NARC and TAG.

TAG proposals: Obviously, TAG range would be the only one to currently do anything. my only other suggestion would be perhaps giving a bonus to the TAG bonuses, so its TAG is more effective than other mechs mounting one.

NARC proposals: This one is a bit more tricky. the cool down, while nice, is somewhat circumstantial as you would have to be wanting to NARC multiple targets. which in my experience just causes confusion in the LRM mechs, so isn't always a wise choice.

NARC range could be excellent, making the 3L equivalent to Clan NARC range, possibly longer depending on play testing. i don't think it would be a problem, given im suggesting it be dedicated to EWAR it makes sense.

My other suggestion for NARC, and perhaps the most game changing, is a NARC Velocity bonus. no other mech I'm aware of has Missile Velocity. it would be an entirely new Quirk. this would combine with the NARC range to create a specialist platform, one that can theoretically place NARC more accurately at longer ranges.

Combine all of this together and we get a raven that would be much better at its Canon job: being a dedicated spotter, scout, and electronics mech.

I used to use the Locust 3S as a Narcer, before the recent quirk pass. It had a 30% missile range bonus, giving you a range of 585m. It made a huge difference. I never saw anyone else using a Narc on a Locust, it's like I had my own little hidden gem. PGI why :(

I'm against the idea of velocity quirks in general since it messes with your aim, but range? Yes definitely.

well, its good to hear that the range quirks applied. though it does suck your build got nerfed especially considering the locusts that weren't the energy spam locust were still pretty sad.

Velocity would just be like any other mech that has significant velocity quirks on slow weapons. aka many of the PPC mechs. sure, you have to change your aim a bit but it doesnt take too long to figure it out normally. point taken though.
