My rig is as follows
CPU: AMD 9590 @4.7 ghz
RAM: 8 GB RAM 1600 (Soon to be 16 GB 1866mhz)
SSD KINGSTON HYPERX 3k
VIDEO: SPARKLE GTX 760
OS: Win 7 64 bit

Just curious if anyone has any ideas of how to optimise the mwo client to maximise and stabilise my FPS, my performance is good but i know you guys are likely to be able to help me squeeze a little more out of it.

Start with:
particles > medium
shadows > high or medium
shading > high

Test and measure fps, report back.

Also, read the other performance topics in this subforum. Lots of stuff already covered in other threads that may be helpful. (we hate repeating ourselves, and we're doing it more and more as time goes on)

Hi

Despite playing for several years, i just recently discover the power of the user.cfg file
Search on forum for it, u should find lots of answers, and several version of a premade user.cfg

Basically, it give u the hand on options nondisplayed in option menu, and u can all check for being the best for ur computer
U can even disable the window reflect on ur mech's cockpit !!

Using a user.cfg correctly filledwas the better thing i do for improving my MWO

In normal matches, I get between 90 and 35 frames in direct x 11 with every thing set to high but effects and shadows that are set to medium, In cw matches I get between 65 to 35 frames, both running at 1920 1080 resolution. I realise these result are pretty vague but the framerates tend to jump around a bit.

Welcome to MWO.

Your seeing dips that low because of the way CPU performance is handled in the game, it's not really favourable to AMD chips.
You will probably have to make some user.cfg adjustments to get them up to snuff.
Im sure Goose will be along shortly he's the king of user.cfg stuff.

wtf!?

max fps use:

dx9

particles low
shadows low or off
AA off
vsync off

OP wanted to -stabilize- his fps, and probably around 60 or so (that's an educated guess, just lots of 60hz monitors out there these days since they're cheap). I mean, you can read English so how did you confuse the word stabilize for the word maximize?

With his system specs, and having seen similar hardware from other users, what I provided was a starting point for measurement. This really is that simple. Please wait for your teenage angst to blow over before attempting to act smart.

CPU: AMD 9590 @4.7 ghz

plus

stable = max fps so no dips below 60 fps

which is near impossible for that cpu

read + analysis = win

Actually bud, with the fixes suggested I have attained a stable 80+ frames per second, thankyou to all who contributed.
Excellent work.

Uh no not at all.

Because on this occasion you haven't done the reading an analysis Mav, your approach is the nuclear option that sacrifices everything to obtain higher maximum FPS (not stable FPS).

Wired's looked at the CPU (seeing AMD) and gone with lowering the CPU intensive options.

Adding Smokey's user.cfg tweaks on the top furthers that work and improves the stability of AMD cpu's.

Srry I havent been here to help to the max, but I am experiencing flooding........at my feet as I type. I have A feeling that the last few performance passes that PGI has done with patches in last 6 weeks has made a nice difference I havent had time to fraps bench any matches Because I have literally played 2 matches in 3 weeks........due to new baby and now this cursed flood.
