I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but when buying new colors, does that mean you own that color for all mechs or just for that chassis? Is it the same with patterns?

For those mechs lately who go out to battle in their hot pink and purple urban camo, this goes through my head everytime I see you:


With the new warjingles... It wont be too long until we see those animal print Atlas' blasting this.

Colours, you use them liberally once you own them.

All mechs included.

Camos sold seperately.

1 time use camos apply only to selected mech and that's it. Permanent camos apply to said chassis, meaning all centurions if you purchased it for the centurions. Hunchbacks don't get to apply the camo (you have to buy camo separately for hunchbacks)

One time means only one time. If you change it to something else, for whatever reason, you have to buy it again.

Also: Interestingly, that's pattern only. So if you put one-shot Dazzle on your LCT-3M and paint it pink, green and brown, you can later change it to yellow, orange and purple. Only the pattern is locked.

Also, heroes and "special" mechs have locked patterns and (sometimes) color channels.

I've been looking for a camo pattern that simulates the "cave art" on the Raven Huggins to put on my other Ravens. Am I missing it? I know hero camo doesn't transfer, but I was hoping there was another one that was like that.

Or... does PGI ever sell camo that was once reserved for heroes?

Also, any way I can get the Phoenix pack still? Will it ever be offered again?

sorry, Heroes have a unique patten which you cannot aquire any other way

no, the Phoenix pack stopped being available more than a year ago, and while it is possible PGI may decide to re-release it, I doubt it will ever be offered again however you can get all the Mechs except the special varients with the bonus cbills, loyalty points or camo, but those Mechs are available without the LP, camo or bonus cbills.

Phranken pattern is very similar to the Huggin bird, its a skeleton bird, will all look the same to the enemy

When I see a mech that's over 250 meters away it appears black so I have been experimenting by painting mine white, but since I have no way for me to see me when I am over 250 meters away I don't know for sure if it works.

Yeah, I've got similar "coyote, OD, and charcoal" setups for all of my mechs. I put in what I figured a militia group would use for actual concealment instead of banner-waving.

It works very well, and looks pretty cool.

Screw that. Make that sucker as bright as you can. Neon greens, oranges, purples, and yellows in crazy visible from miles away patterns. Blind them with how wicked your paint job is, and taunt them for not bringing shades. Awww yeah.

I'm not saying I don't use a variety of colors but I seem to be less noticed in muted colors. But this could be totally a placebo effect too.

tans and brown and greens . . . blech. I have a Stalker that's currently bright orange and yellow. Nobody will think for a moment it's landscape, and I'm good with that.
