Im experimenting with different dropdecks and mechs in general for CW and would love to get some suggestions for Improvements. I know most of the Tactics that are used in HK and so far was doing good with my universal Dropdeck. But maybe i could do even better...who knows.

My Dropdeck so far:
Firestarter A (SPL-Build)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f794cfdc081b668
Wolverine 6R (Pocketdragon)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ae9f67e4791e7dc
Thunderbolt 5SS (Sniperbuild)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d6e48a81275a854
Battlemaster 1G (Fast Assault)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...410ff45c9063672

Against Clans the Battelmaster gets switched out for:
Banshee 3E (Dakka-Build)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...45b7e0e8c3c646a

For special tactical needs i have fully equipped and ready to be switched in:
Raven 3L (ERLL/ECM)
Spider 5D (MPL/ECM)
Battlemaster 1S (LRM-Boat)
Thunderbolt 5SS (MPL-Build)
Oxide (4xSRM4)

What i think would be worth a try:
Jagermech (Gauss)
Shadowhawk 2K (3 ERLL)
Stalker 4N (6 LL)
Dragon 1N (2 AC5)
Battlemaster 1S (4 ERLL)

Mechs i like, but can´t fit in my dropdecks for CW somehow:
Griffin 1N (2 LRM15)
Trebuchet 7M (2 LRM15)
Hunchback 4P (7 ML, 2 LL)
Hunchback 4SP (5 ML, 2 LRM10)
Firestarter S (4 MPL or 7 MPL)
Panther 10K (2 LPL)
Huggin (2 SRM4)
Sparky (2 ERLL, 4 ML)
Golden Boy (5 LRM5, 2 LL)
Wolverine 6K (3LL)
Any Catapult (LRM-Boat)
Jagermech (AC40)
Awesome (LRM-Boat)
Thunderbolt 9S (ERPPC)

As modules i use advanced zoom for snipers, target info gathering whenever if i can fit it in, target decay and sensor range for LRMs, radar deprivation for lights and fast mediums.

I am best with lights and fast mediums and good with heavies as long as they are not too slow. So Assaults are most of the time a waste of tonnage for me. But since the team needs all armor it can get i usually max out the tonnage anyways.

Did i forget any good mechs that i should consider to use in CW?
Do you have different dropdecks for attack, defend or counterattack?
If yes, where is the difference?
Do you have different dropdecks for different maps?
What do you use if you expect a lightrush? Ever tried an IS-Streakboat in CW?
What kind of general modules do you use?

Any suggestions welcome and maybe my list is a help for HK recruits. ^^

Sounds like a solid dropdeck. But somehow i can´t work with that Dragon. The Wolverine (Pocketdragon) works better for me. So i would have 10 tons free. Maybe the Grasshopper would take the spot of the 5SS with MPL for me. It looks solid for that:

I think i know what firestarter you are talking about. ^^

Edit:
The underweight is no problem for you?

My deck is 2-light 2-Assault

(the use whatever you have left final wave) Locust Pirate's Bane (ECM, 2SL, 2MPL) (Swaps for Spider vs Clans)

(Light swarm wave) BrawlRaven RVN-3L (ECM 3ML 2SRM4) (Swaps for Firestarter vs Clans)

(sniper wave) BattleMaster BLR-1S (4ERLL 22DHS) (On Sulfurous Rift we swap our 'sniper wave' for a 'fast brawler' wave, where I switch to an XL395 6ML 2AC/5 BLR-1G to keep up with the dragons/tbolts)

(Big wave) Atlas D-DC AC/20+SRMs STD350

So far no big news.
How is the Battlemaster 1S doing compared to the 5SS? I like the dodgeability of the 5SS. Is the 1S comparable in this matter?

The build uses XL400 engine and 22 heat sinks. It moves 84kph and is actually faster and more dodgy than the tbolts (speaking standard engine tbolts as our unit dislikes XL bolts), which fits well with my antsy playstyle. I will constantly move left to right and reposition and strafe about. The biggest difference is that the BattleMaster has a 12.5% laser duration quirk that reduces the burn time of ERLL down to 1.093s and helps it remain precise in those moments where pickings are slim. Beyond that, the tbolt has greater heat cost reduction (15% opposed to 10%) so the difference in cooling is not as drastic as it could be, but 22 heat sinks definitely is better than that quirk the tbolt has.

The battlemaster has more armor, but has an XL engine. You gotta twist to make it work. The build calls for armor in the arms to be shaved down to 40 each, but then the BLR arm quirks reinforce their armor back up. The mobility of the BLR really helps to have damage spread all over, and friendly ECM to prevent the enemy from learning that any particular spot is opened helps a lot too. Overall, I don't mind enemies hitting me if it allows our other more squishy snipers more opportunities. When we successfully share the burden of aggression that everyone dies at the same time, it's safe to attribute the presence of these BLRs as a significant reason our sniper waves can cause as much attrition as they do.

Oh, and the weapon mount locations of BLR-1S are A+

I suggest varying your drop deck by map and mode.

Neg

Thunderbolts are meaty. If cold map my sniper 5SS lasts into their second wave of mechs or more. Pulsebolt takes a pounding. Dragon is a glass canon but i stay behind the meat shields (dragon 1n is all about positioning).

On hot map i swap the sniper SS for a quad ac5 cataphract. Im in the process of working a king crab or stalker into my decks to fill weight

I love my quad ac5 phract in the solo queue. Never thought of taking it to CW. But on the hot map it´s indeed worth a thought.

Great thread idea. Here are ideas for other faction drop decks:

Marik: Jump Jet lights for faster ghost drop during off hours.

Davion: Mech with easy access eject button, ha ha.

Steiner: Mech with ECM because nobody ever see Steiner.

Clanners: Streak Crows because clanner pilots superior in skill.

Ha ha. Hope you like idea!!
