I do belive that the FASA usage of Warhammer predates Games Workshop's usage of Warhammer, which would make FASA's usage ok. However if it really came down to it they could call it a War Hammer, since that is in general usage.

The Warhammer is named after an actual weapon tho, not GW's stupid space orc game ;) So GW can go pound salt.

IMO a redesign of this Mech will replace the warhammer.

It makes me facepalm when I see the number of replies to this thread thinking the Warhammer mech issue has anything to do with the name.

I thought I was the only one.

Actually its been speculated that the image isn't a problem. So then its a question of if they want to go there. My personal wild speculation is that the unseen issue has been resolved, and they are waiting till right before launch to announce those mechs. If they announce 16 prior to launch, and then announce the next four as unseen right before or during launch it could really grab the momentum of the announcement.

There are a lot of mechs that everyone wants to see in the final product and I'm sure a warhammer is one of them but you never know maybe.

LoL, on all the talk about Warhammer the name and GW.

Let's say we forget Harmony Gold for a moment, and all those mechs so many of us love.

How about many of the Unseen/Reseen from: Crusher Joe, Dougram and Victor Entertainment?

I need my Locust, and I'd love to see the Griffin, Battlemaster, Wolverine and Shadow Hawk in game as well.

As for Harmony Gold, with most IP that is leased out, a company needs to show they are doing something with it or they can lose the rights. Like Sony coming out with a Spider-Man reboot or Fox and the X-Men: First Class. Because if either does nothing the movie rights will revert to Marvel (Disney). Shouldn't the same thing happen to Harmony Gold?
I mean the only thing they're likely to do is re-release Robotech on Blu-Ray, which is doing nothing new with the IP. So Studio Nue should have complete control over the rights, especially if they contest that Harmony is just sitting around twiddling there thumbs. The most recent Robotech project to actually be released was Shadow Chronicles, which took place after all the other series and had newly designed Veritech and not one Destroid.

Or am I missing/misunderstanding something here?

P.S. Oh, and the live-action film has been in development since 2007 and like most other Robotech projects is probably never going to see the light of day.

I like to think the same thing for my beloved Marauders sake.

*sigh* I did a huge post about Harmony Gold and FASA's involvement with the 'unseen' and the situation as a whole.

As it is the 'unseen' all have 'reseen' designs and any design would go though Alex's redesign anyway... so I seriously doubt that HG has any standing when it comes to any of these mechs at this point.

All I know is as an older pen and paper gamer, who still has the old unseen mechs, I would love to see all of the Unseen mech styles return.

Harmony Gold can suck eggs. We are getting the proper Battletech BattleMechs, as they are before they threw a hissy fit. Without them, It just isn't MechWarrior.

If you look, it also shows MechWarrior(not MechWarrior Online) as an upcoming game, and the last post on the News page is from early 2010.

That site hasn't been updated in a looooong time.

I have always wondered how different the design has to be to skirt this issue... I would not think it would have to be that greatly different.

Due to the legal troubles with Harmony Gold over the original images of the Mechs taken from Macross/Robotech it will probably not make an appearance in this game. And, if it does it'll have to be the redesign from Technical Readout: Project Pheonix, so it'll look more like this:

Still want it?
