This really depends on the player and how they've interacted with the franchise. IMO it's all the Mechs in the Phoenix Pack. When I bought my first BattleTech box set, those Mechs where the ones with markers and stats included.

Urban mech is pretty iconic as the underdog. It's even in the 1987 BattleTechnology mags much to my surprise, alongside Marauders, Thunderbolts and Shadowhawks.

Hunchbacks were iconic in their own right. Summoner was definitely iconic, in most cases wherever there was a Timber Wolf there was a Summoner nearby.

By extension, you might also notice the IS had a captured and highly disrepaired Mad Dog.

Which also became iconic in its own way.

There's a Shadow Cat in there too. So that can make for a good future goal as well.

In a way, from the lore perspective, any 'Mech can be iconic depending on who you ask. To me, one of the most iconic 'Mechs is the Stalker which managed to be one of the most used Assault 'Mechs in the entire Inner Sphere and its Periphery due to its high reliability and versatility as a spearhead 'Mech for more than 5 centuries.

Madcat and Atlas are perhaps the most overall iconic.

I also like the Devastator, though it's not in the game yet.

For you, I would recommend the Centurions or Hunchbacks. Both are relatively iconic with Kai Allard's Yen Lo Wang being perhaps the most iconic Hero Mech around.

C'mon.. ..the catapult!! With those cute fluffy ears :P

Madcat is definitely the most iconic clan mech I reckon. My opinion, not necessarily the 'most' iconic, but definitely up there

IS:

1.Atlas
2.Hunchback
3.Zeus
4.Raven
5.King Crab
6. Awesome
7. Battlemaster for sure!!
8. Catapult
9. Jenner
10. Centurion

Eh, this is a somewhat subjective subject (hee-hee,) but still, there is a difference between an "iconic" 'mech, and a 'mech we like and favor. For a 'mech to be Iconic, it should be somehow visually representative of Battletech or Mechwarrior. So the Warhammer and Marauder, which currently remain Unseen, are iconic 'mechs, as are the Atlas and Mad Cat; other examples would possibly be the Locust or the Axeman, as they appear prominently in certain literature.

Essentially, for something to be iconic, it should stand for something else - so you don't just look at a 'mech say, "Hey, that's a Quickdraw, I love that 'mech" - rather, you should say to yourself, "Ah, Battletech."

Valid point, Void Angel. I'd have to say that for me, the Timber Wolf is first among iconic mechs, alongside the Atlas.

For mechs with relatively unique profiles that I recall fondly, you can't really go wrong with the Jenner/Jenner IIC, the Rifleman IIC, the Mad Dog, the Summoner, the Commando, and the Executioner.

For mechs that have joined the list that I will recall fondly in the future from playing this game, you've got the Locust, the King Crab, the Dragon, the Catapult, and the Hunchback

My perspective is limited only to video games so iconic to me is the mechs which appeared (and were among the most powerful) in the most games. Not the best standard to go by but we can list a few:

Madcat, Atlas, Thor, Vulture, Uller, Jagermech, Catapult, Raven, Bushwacker, Hunchback, Cougar, Shadowcat

Mainly I think those feel iconic to me because they were starter mechs in those games or just good mechs that I liked using. They also have unique profiles.

I'm actually saddened by the general lack of Ravens in the books I've got so far. Granted I'm not through them yet, but no arts yet. Wound up finding the Annihilator before the Raven.

And the Cyclops -- which I had once thought Microsoft made up near 2000, is in this 1987 issue. And it looks better than any iteration of the Cyclops I had ever seen drawn ever since. This is actually a Phoenix Hawk. O.o;

Two thumbs up just for the 08th MS Team shoutout.

Too bad I ran out of thumbs for the rest of the post though, since I always liked the cooling vest bit of lore, and found Snord's Irregulars to be one of the funnier canon stories.

Fair warning: most of these iconic mechs are not nearly as good in combat as the two iconic mechs you have <_<, There are lots of them, yes, but then PGI chose which mechs to put in game for a reason.

Raven
Hunchback
Dragon
Catapult
Jagermech
Orion
Awesome
Stalker
Highlander

Clan:
