I've just started to play and i feel like the hit detection on here is crazy, I average about 25-50ping MAX during most matches.

I've had some friends play with me 1v1 testing the hits and whenever something is rapid fired only 50-70% of my rounds are registering.

Does anyone else have this problem? I've seen alot of older forum posts about this.

They are simulating dice rolls to hit.

If they were, I think we'd hit more often.

Hit detection has always been a low priority. No matter how much we complain about it nothing changes.

Everything said above is true. My ping is always between 45-60 and I consistantly notice hits not registering. The weird part is some days it seems I can kill mechs and remove specific components easily. Then for no reason, ping still the same, I can't get a kill no matter what I do. Very annoying being under 200m out, seeing the weapon hit, reticle turns red, but no damage registers on the enemy. I doubt it will change but I'm hopeful.

You guys know there is a pinned thread from a PGI staff member asking about our pings and how we think it is affecting our hit reg, right?

This is a common long time problem in MWO, which PGI continuously fails to register as a HUGE problem for the game.
Some time ago I whined about this in the forums of a competitive league only to be told by <50 ms pingers that the problem is actually the same for everyone. The hitreg is so bad that even a good ping doesn't matter.

Now that they lost Karl Berg, I don't know who they have that could actually address the problem. :I

I saw a spider today use this ping issue to take out four mechs at the end of a fight. Now I know why, his lag was so bad that his screen was a slideshow. By having poor ping, the player's performance increased, enemies were unable to hit. I noticed the same with locusts today. This is terrible! Its become a latency exploit! Should we start riding our lights and slowing our internet just to compete with these people?

That is your problem. You need to get off wireless, or it will remain bad. My ping is 120 +/- 1 (yes, 120), and my hit registration is generally rock solid. Your connection stability is crucial in MWO. Even players from Australia do fine as long as they have good landlines.

Somewhere in the general forums, i.e. the place that will give you cancer? No, thanks.

There's no harm in us being ignored here as well as there ;)

This is the #1 reason why we need EU servers. All of the servers should be enforcing g_pinglimit < 80 ms.

That would not work even for "only" NA. Pings across one continent easily go above 100.

This was in CW...
Notice that when the cicada shutdown, it seems that several hits were not register based on the cross hair not turning red.
