Now, how about the excessive particles when multiple flamers are shot into the dirt? *cough cough, 12 flamer nova issues*

Remember when it was Nvidias fault?
Im just stoked if its fixed. If I can have particles set to high without the smoke lagging me or blinding me, id be super happy.
Pretty tired of smokeless LRMs because backing up after an alpha strike was lag city, there was no alternative to low or medium, since that heatlagsmoke killed your fps.

Anything that helps stop my FPS from tanking! Did they give any kind of a time frame for this?

Ummm, so has this been implemented or is it a fix that is coming? Where has it been mentioned?
This would be great as the only reason I'm not running max settings at the moment is because of this very issue - having framerate dips in the middle of a fight cause my mech steams up from heat is seriously stifling and I'm forced to run med settings to mitigate the issue and make the game playable.

This is going to remove a massive handicap from my sniping. I was very pleased to read about it.

Looks like they're fixing JJ animation/hitbox warp as well.
Good riddance....

Excessive particles full stop.
Someone at PGI thinks particle effects are just so pretty they can't resist setting the value too high despite the performance hits.

If this fix to reduce particles works then.. AWESOME news. its the only thing that slows my FPS to unacceptable levels and makes me not like the cold maps as much, even though i tend to play very, very hot mechs.
