Please revert the LRM lock as it was two weeks ago: a minor area to be aimed into keep the target.

Because the OP apparently is very bad at using cover, AMS, and/or ECM?

LRMs' accuracy is determined by the target. If you are getting pummeled with them it is purely your own fault.

I think it would be better this way.

1. LRM's only get a lock when the target is NARC'ed or TAG'ed. With those you can arc missiles up and down onto enemies from behind a hill.

2. LRM dead-firing is pilot guided to the target. Your LRM's will try to fly straight down your crosshairs like a TOW missile from Battlefield games or the rockets from Half Life. If you turn, your missiles turn. You only hit things by aiming at them.

Lrm flight speed must be then boosted at least twice, cause of the face time required to lead the target. Otherwise it will make a bad weapon even worse.

If the flight speed is too fast, I'm better off buying a ballistics. If the flight speed is too low, I'm better off not playing a LRM boat.

No way, if I dumb fire a cluster of lrm at 200m range I want to twist for cover without my missiles changing course. Dumb fire without lock should always fly to the point of reticle at the time of fire.

I am actually an LRM boat quite often. I just liked the idea of keeping the lock tighter as it challenged me.

I wish they would take away that auto lock that targets mechs under your reticle if you shoot at them with a LOS weapon or look at them too long !

I wish to lock one mech then look at another and shoot at with all my weapons ( including dumb fire lrm ) when I dumb fire lrm at that second mech I want to be able to lead it using my cross hair on terrain before looking back at my locked target.

Put simply I don't want my targets to switch unless I switch them !

But right now my mech targets things that I don't want to...

I've never seen auto-lock go off unless you haven't targeted anything yet or if the last thing you targeted was destroyed.

the only time it auto targets is if you have nothing targeted. It doesn't auto switch targets.

but yes, there are times I wish it wouldn't auto target like that. underneath crimson straights comes to mind.
