Good effort on the shield and helmet, but does he call that a beard?
Gonna have to try and top that, I guess.

I will say I like your guys' resilience, in fact I'll do my best to make amends so that the Wolf's Dragoons become the mercenary unit of choice when you need help, so, see you in the field.

FRRs dont die, we just go to Valhall to regroup ;)

On a more serious note we would appreciate The Wolf´s Dragoons or any other mercenary group taking FRR contracts against our enemies.

Will do, against the Dracs, Lyrans, and/or anyone trying to invade you guys, like an outer space aliens that come in, though, we won't be hitting any of those that have a Wolf's Insignia. You guys start sending contracts, and we'll get our units moving, why don't we just make official that we're the one of the official units aligned with you guys, to help train, and fight alongside ehh? May your battles be glorious, your bloodlust sated, and that we'll always have the pleasure of calling each other friends.

Anyone care to make a bet about how many worlds the clans will take before being completely stonewalled?

So long as the devs don't change the mechanics to make them be able to get past us, I'd say 5 worlds.

Half to three-quarters of the Republic.

We'll be operating under a complete communications blackout, against an enemy we have no intelligence on, equipped with WarShips, with extremely accurate intelligence on our forces, whose Mechs are faster, more heavily armored, more heavily armed, with longer ranged weapons.

Errr... we'll know just as much about them as us, there are no warships in MWO, and we have no idea how they'll handle the IS/Clan tech disparity.

All we can assume about their tech right now is they will have range on us, and more weapons per mech. That won't make them better fighters, tacticians, or strategists.

Everyone should stop hyperventilating about the Clans and realize while they will have a minor edge in technology, that does not, and probably will not, transfer into an edge in skill.

As I learned recently, the Ghost Bear Dominion loses Radstadt and the entirety of its population to bombardment by Blakist forces. But that's about it. I want to make a few points, though:

Much of the FRR is conquered not by Clan Ghost Bear, but by Clan Wolf. It seems that many of these worlds remain held by the Wolves and later exclusively by the Crusader Wolves until at least the mid-32nd century. I know that, in the initial invasion, the Wolves were fairly tolerant of their new Inner Sphere subjects, but I do not believe the Wolves gave them any meaningful degree of freedom or share in governance. I also think that the Crusaders were probably harsher to their subjects than the Clan as a whole was during the initial invasion. (EDIT: Of course, this would probably change given a reunification of the Crusader and Warden factions of Clan Wolf). On the other hand, it seems that Clan Ghost Bear permitted the Rasalhagians a large degree of responsibility for local governance even in the initial invasion, and by the time the Rasalhague Dominion is formed, the Clan actually shared executive authority with a democratically-elected Prince from the entire realm. The Dominion is truly a hybrid IS/Clan state: a real-world analogy might be Malta, where the Knights of Malta coexist side-by-side with a Maltese civilian population in harmony while retaining an important symbolic role in society, despite originally being a group of foreign invaders.

Yup, that pretty much is the Rasalhague Dominion in a nut shell. THAT won't happen for about 11 years. 3060 if I'm not mistaken.

Even so, from the time the FRR secedes from the Combine onwards, it never stops being a decent place to live. First off, it's the most thorough democracy in the Inner Sphere, period (I think the Federated Suns has many worlds that are democratic, but in aggregate they are a constitutional monarchy; the same situation applies to the Lyran Commonwealth; the Free Worlds League is similar, and even has internal regional states, but many of these are monarchies as well). Second, even during the Clan invasion, they are attacked by the most tolerant Clans, and more or less retain their domestic freedoms in a manner no different from your average FedSuns citizen. Third, by 3080, they're a democracy again--this time more in the style of the United Kingdom (one elected "house", the FRR, one unelected "house", the Clan). I don't even care that the FRR gets Clan tech--the Nova Cats join the Combine and the Warden Wolves effectively join the Lyran Alliance, so, that's all a wash. The FRR is just... a nice place.
