Hello Mechwarriors!

We're currently looking to recruit a Volunteer Moderator who can speak both English and French.

This Volunteer Moderator would communicate with us (The Devs.) on current situations and discussions on the Francophone forums as well as moderate, translate and possibly even run small forum events for this community, such as participation and contest type events!

Please post on this thread if you're interested!

hi Tina
thx for your kind offer
a nice title for that topic could have been "recherchons modérateur motivé et bilingue pour le forum francophone"
we are currently discussing all possibilities but may i recommend warmly coryphee from SMC,SgtKinCaid from BD or Sgt Rico from TdF
all three are really nice chaps and have a deep knowledge of both game and french community
they are also respected for their fairplay among our teams
cheers tina
see you sometime on the battlefield

as you may have noticed i could have applied BUT my job takes most of my energy....got the best job on earth
:D

IMPORTANT!
This is NOT my application for the mod job. I'm the most unreliable person you'll ever know and I have my {Godwin's Law} moments when I LOVE the nuke button. I'm not the mod the French community wants, no no no ;)

Ok now a more serious response :

Hello Tina and thanks for your consideration. It's always good to have someone to represent the French players ( and to a lesser degree, our cousins from Québec), even though we are not the most populated community.

But before applying for the job, I want to know what do you expect from the Volunteer Moderator ? Actually, I try to inform my fellow brethen with all the information I can gather from various sources : I translate the patch note (http://mwomercs.com/...e-ce-soir-1703/) and other stuff (http://mwomercs.com/...g-fevrier-2015/), I made a post to list all the House/Clan ressources needed for CW (http://mwomercs.com/...factions-clans/), etc. Is it what you are looking for ?

I would also like to know how time consuming will be the Volunteer Moderator job . My workload can be like a rollercoaster and for example, i didn't have much time since March to post regular updates like I used to do.

And last, while I agree that PGI has made a lot of effort and progress since its separation with IGP, I won't be light with criticism : i am a software engineer myself since 2006, and sometimes, when I see how some problems are handled or how some features are implemented, it just makes me mad. I have also been playing MWO since quite a long time (I missed the Founder program by a month if I recall correctly), and I have seen my fair share of good and bad things from PGI.

oh gosh...not a white knight then...makes my day... ;-)
i'm not sure they can be too demanding on your availability as the number of positive answers but yours amounts to nill...

Hello!

Sorry I'm going to write in English, although I can speak French fluently (Je suis née en Corse et j'ai vécu en Provence quand j'étais petite) But I've gotten better with my English more so than my French now so my grammar and spelling is quite awful..
However! You can answer in whichever language you'd like! I will understand.

First of all, the Volunteer Moderators all get together, which is why it's important that you can speak/write English as well, as we communicate how we handle certain situations on the forums to follow the code of conduct rules.
You would be making sure the forums stay appropriate. This doesn't require too much of your time, you don't need to be on the forums every single day but enough to keep an eye on it once in a while to make sure everything is going fine and no rules are being broken. And yes, this would mean you would have the ability to remove posts, remove/move/pin threads, warn/suspend players as well.

Next, translations as you already do is very helpful! Although it's optional, as it is a lot of work but it's a really nice thing to do for the community, especially on events that players may not understand but wish to participate in and to read patch notes of course.

You'd be a role model! Keeping these forums hyped up with activity, you could also help out with running forum events, or contest events or forum participation events or possibly feedback threads. This part is optional but we would totally support it.
For example:
a screenshot contest on the forums
a feedback thread on ideas for a new cockpit item
forum participation events (like art, or poems!)
even running mini tournaments if you'd like

The staff you will be in direct contact with would be myself, not the developers nor the design team, feedback is always accepted however, we do not make any promises on how or what will affect the design of the game. Just to be clear, the development of the game is not involved with moderators any further than how we would collect feedback from players submitting support tickets or on the forums.

Let me know if you have other questions!

I went to Corse (Bastia) 4 years ago and it was beautiful. It was also really fun to encounter cows on the loose on the really narrow mountain roads :o. The beaches were superb too.

I will keep doing that.

Hum, I'll try to give it a shot then.

Yeah I already know that. I wanted to be sure you understand that I won't praise everything what PGI does. Yes PGI is doing better, yes the game is on the right tracks now but it still lacks several proper core features.

Sadly, it will be no. I'm losing interest in the game right now after 2,5 years and more than 10k match fought.
My unit is also not active anymore.
It's not a good time for me to take this role.

Arf, bien dommage SgtKinCaiD...
