Achievements are neglected yet they seem like such an easy thing to add more of over time to keep people interested in playing to achieve them.

They can expand into late game content, and Steam makes it really easy to integrate and expand them over time (see PayDay2 for an excellent example of continuing to deliver DLCs with additional achievements so the game is never really complete unless you play it a lot).

Since we know PGI already tracks all sorts of player data and metrics, the hardest part may simply be creating good titles for the ones that award a title. =P

Between current and archived data, I've apparently earned over 10 million experience points, but there aren't any achievements related to that. I have no idea how many c-bills I've earned over the course of my career but I'd imagine it's gotta be close to a billion, and they've probably tracked that even thought they only display your current balance of c-bills.

And how about achievements and titles for various intervals of those earnings? There's just the "The One Percent" tag for some relatively easy to earn c-bill amount but beyond that it stops.

For completionists or those who just dig 'chievos, they could expand very easily on what's already there, particularly to encourage collectors to keep going.

For example, achieving:

Cumulative C-bills
100,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills)
250,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills)
500,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills, title, maybe MC?)
1,000,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills, title, MC)
2,500,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills, MC)
5,000,000,000 c-bills earned over your career (award GXP, c-bills, title, MC)

Mech XP
50k Mech XP on a single variant (award c-bills)
100k Mech XP on a single variant (award GXP, c-bills)
250k Mech XP on a single variant (award GXP, c-bills)
500k Mech XP on a single variant (award GXP, c-bills, title)
1000k Mech XP on a single variant (award GXP, c-bills, title, even MC?)

100k Mech XP across a chassis (i.e., the sum of the XP earned across all variants of a specific chassis) (award GXP, c-bills)
250k Mech XP across a chassis (award GXP, c-bills)
500k Mech XP across a chassis (award GXP, c-bills, title)
1000k Mech XP across a chassis (award GXP, c-bills, title)

Overall earning/converting total GXP
50k GXP (award c-bills)
100k GXP (award GXP, c-bills)
250k GXP (award GXP, c-bills)
500k GXP (award GXP, c-bills)
1000k GXP (award GXP, c-bills, title)

Mech Collection
Own 50 mechs (award GXP, c-bills)
Own 100 mechs (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 150 mechs (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 200 mechs (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 250 mechs (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)

Own 50 unique variants (award GXP, c-bills)
Own 100 unique variants (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 150 unique variants (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 200 unique variants (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)
Own 250 unique variants (award GXP, c-bills, progressive title, maybe MC?)

Some players would actually like to have goals to aim for, provided the metrics are presented to measure their progress and the incentives are appealing enough to spend the time trying.

Btw, where it says "progressive title",what I'm thinking is that the series of titles are similar, with a different adjective in front of each like Junior then regular then Senior/Master. i.e., The title ranks up as you progress up the levels of that achievement type.

Not every achievement needs to be skill based. It would be good to reward those who put in the time and grind stuff out, too.

Thoughts?

I wonder if they will track achievements and stats in CW when beta is over. That would be a good time to add new ones which are CW specific or regular queue specific. I would also like to see CW stats and regular stats have their own tab like the old stats do.
