As a lead in i believe the defenders should have a slight advantage countered by the attackers getting bonus weight advantage. (realistically no one builds a base "fairly" and thats why the military uses "shock and awe". not saying attackers should get quite that much weight advantage but they should ALWAYS have one IMO.

IMO the worst two

For Gen rush / Blitzkrieg
1- IMO the best way would be to add "short range" (SSRM, SPL/MPL) turrets (maybe one by the gen and one between gen and gate) that are tied to the gate gen ( so when gate opens they shut down) that way they would counter only light rushes without giving the defenders too much advantage.
2- Minimum time required per game. (probably 10-15 min) then the quick win isnt so they are more inclined to take time and fight properly.

For spawn camping
1- switch the dropships LL and give them all MPL so shorter range but more damage in the close range that spawn camping ususally is.
2- if that is insufficent a slight tweak of the flight path over the common "camp" areas along with a slower flight (more time in area) would allow them to do more damage/make enemies stay in cover which would give they dropping guy time to move.

* Also not really an issue but it would be kinda nice if when defending another factions territory and you win you get a "small" bonus from them aswell. Since it doesnt really make sense for you to be defending them (IE Liaos paying to defending a stiener world doesnt really make sense) so having stieners give someting (maybe extra cbills) or splitting the reward xp between factions or someting would make mroe sense to me. Maybe im just crazy IDK.

I like the idea of dropships hovering and providing fire support for dropped mechs. However, that does require that the drop point be far enough away that the dropships aren't providing fire support for Omega as well, or that gets complicated.
