Looking to pick one up on sale because why not. Anyone recommend or say nay?

My other option is the arrow...

Saying nay. A huge, emphatic, nay.

It's the only purchase in this game that I regret.

reasons? I need persuasion because a dual ac5 ml SRM brawler build is enticing

thats pretty much the only working setup atm.

if you want you can experiment with gauss + srms too

before the quirks hit in i ran the IV with 2 ASRM6 launchers,5 tons of ammo,2 MPL,3 JJ:s and STD285,endo+ferro,sometimes with dual uacs and srms.

It's a quickdraw.

Do i need to say anything else?

It's a Quickdraw without the things that make a Quickdraw somewhat viable. That being speed and laser vomit.

It does have some Dragon level AC5 quirks, but that's about it. Of course ymmv, I've seen people do well in them. But those are usually the people that can roll their face across the keyboard and do well.

Can't comment on the Quickdraw.
I like my Arrow, with 2xLPL a medium laser, and 6xMGs... but MGs suck these days, so it takes away some of the fun.

I have both and probably get better use out of the arrow, in the end I have a dual gauss IV4 troll build that seems to work best for me, but the 3 Large Laser 6 MG Arrow is much deadlier.

Winner = Arrow

Something like this might work: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...938c60fe38d25f4

But it's a pretty limited mech.

I bought the IV-4 when it came out, and did pretty good in it. However, the only thing that helped it not become nearly useless was the JJs. Then they nerfed them.

I want to love the IV-4, but I can not in good conscious recommend it. The AC/5 quirks are nice, but its a huge slow, lightly armored mech, and the ACs are in a horrible spot for sniping.

It is my least favorite Quickdraw. :(

The AC quirks have improved it a little bit, and it would be nice if it had a higher engine cap.

I've both and I've never used the 6 mg's I switched it to an ac20 build this is before quirks.
Both mechs are fully mastered
Both mech are above 1 but bellow 2 in k/d with the IV-4 being the better, played less than 50 games with each and played the IV-4 the most out the two

despite playing less games with the Arrow i've done 1,300 more damage with it than I have with the IV-4

so you takes your chances

was really disappointed with it until a quirk adjustment and a new build...now it is pretty effective for me and even so in CW. It has a very good AC5 quirk - take advantage (but for me I didn't dual it, but singled it instead and supported with greater srms). It is now fun to play.
(Arrow is still my most successful hero though)
