Good Old Days. That U.I was so easy to use when configuring a mech in the lab. Seeing the sneak peak of it now, it is very close to it. There will need to be changes eventually.

At the moment is just the previous mechlab on top of the mech with the drop down menu to the right..... it's not even at the level of the previous GUI... we went back 2 years in time!

That would be a good idea actually. They can introduce a pack called... umm... yeah... "Once Upon a Time pack" that includes engine render settings from 2 years ago, textures from 2 years ago. animations from the past... even sounds.

"Blast from the Past"... that would be another cool name for such pack.

it would sell more than any clan/IS package.
:P

granted... some other things were nightmares back then... but those things are the basic blocks of a multi-player game. Which means not having them is an issue. (rejoin for example... its not an advantage/improvement... it is a most basic essential thing)

Honestly... I don't really like it haha. At least, not the mechlab portion. I like everything else.
But I'm ganna have to get used to it soon anyways when it hits MWO.
It's too much stuff in one teeny little area. I've suggested what I'd like to see in the feature suggestions.. It's clear it's not getting implemented like that lol. Maybe I'm too minimalist, I like to see things out of the way unless I need them or want to see them. But I'm also lazy. I don't want to go hunting for everything, and memorizing what each little tiny check box does like smurfy has it, and having to customize the inventory just so i can customize my mech. bleh.

But the current mechlab sucky. so... I can't complain too much.

Here's what I suggested. I like editing a mech component by component, but I also like seeing the whole mech, and also like being able to edit anything on the mech at any time. So i broke up that window smurfy has everything crammed in, and put only relevant information onto the components that need it. And ontop of all that, I want it to look and feel cool. With easy readability and bringing focus to the editing process, which is why components fade into the background slightly when editing others.
It's an old idea and I haven't added more graphics. Maybe I'll update it , but it seems like it hasn't got much attention based on what we've seen so far so I don't think I'll bother. I was going to design a module and consumable widget, along with an upgrades widget, and even a slide out window that puts the items and all that how smurfy has it for those who prefer it
