Nonono Mr Snow.

It´s of course Star Trek - they got Kirk, no further explanations required.

Why is there no Babylon 5 in the list of options?

Probably because the OP didn't think of it when he made the post/poll.

Thought, if you'd like to make a case for how well any of the B5 powers would fare against the listed franchises (among others)...

Firefly was a good series with interesting characters... but since we're talking about "space battles", the main powers from most of the listed franchises (and quite a few that aren't listed) would mop the floor with the Alliance military (see the ships available to the Alliance here), and no one else in the known Firefly setting has enough fighting power to matter on the scales that most of the discussions imply

Picard, like many captains through history, is merely the lord-after-God on his own ship.

Okay, after watching season four of Bab5 again, I'd say the Vorlons (and perhaps the Shadows) stand a good chance of going up against the other tech presented in the list.

So, with the Ender's Game movie out, what do people think of how the theatrical rendition of the International Fleet might stack up against the other powers discussed in the thread thus far?

Lets see any ship in Battletech fight a single Borg Tactical Cube. I can bet Battletech would lose entire fleets of warships to one Tac cube cause of regeneration and adaption to energy weapons and it can hit hard as well. I can say if borg comes to assimulate all inner sphere and clans they would get more then a bloody nose they would get a beat down. I can say one Tac Cube can proboly destroy all the clans and inner sphere ships combined in a assault fleet and the lasers be like shooting blanks and regen armor and hull plus adaption would make it tough as nails to ballistics and missles.

Don't believe a borg cubes are strong look at wolf 359 star trek lore. A single regular cube destroyed a entire fleet of 40 of federation ships and killed 11K when picard was locutus heading for earth.

Mmm I think in a full-blown space battle, halo would win. My reasoning for this is the fact that Halo has The Halycon-Class light cruiser, which is essentially built around a huge magnetic accelerator cannon, which is a giant gauss rifle in battletech terms.

star trek cause they got Q.

if its universe vs universe, meaning all the charaters good or bad in the same universe vs another then star trek all the way just because of Q.

the great amazing battle in its full glory: Q clicks his fingers and he wins across all space and time simultaneously.
