Only thing that makes me sad is that it doesn't look like they expanded the city all that much.. :(
Still, will be nice to have some surrounding terrain. The addition of the island was a great idea!

One fifth of the new map (most of the bottom right quadrant) is a complete waste of space... a pocket of nowhere that will never play a part in the battle once the lance that drops there has walked out of it.

What a waste. Son I is disappoint.

If the large greyed-out mountain area in the bottom center was actually playable map, instead of out of bounds, there'd be far more interesting battle options.

For 2 game modes that at least depends on where they put capture points.

And just because most solo and group queue games devolve into ring around the rosie doesn't prevent some players from finding a use for a corner with a chokepoint.

I've gotta admit, I was hoping for an expansion of the city itself. Crimson Strait is always disappointing to me because the city areas are tucked away and are only about a block long, so no real fighting ever happens there. River City you get city fighting fairly often, at least when the water battles don't happen. With so much open terrain though, it's going to end up like Crimson where everyone ignores the city and fights around it.

man...that fidelity of graphics in the crytech SDK is just awesome... I wish we could have the same level of render quality in our games too. (*remembers old closed beta days and goes to a corner and sighs)

There needs to been a narrow, winding path that connects bottom left and bottom right. Add in some spots in there for ambushes and small fights. Nothing too big though, it should be a tight fit for more that a couple of mechs.

Please make cars and other vehicles be destructible! Who wouldn't want to stomp on cars?

I agree with what was already said, looks much improved but the lower right part of the map is wasted space where NOTHING will ever happen. Put some industrial complex there with reservoir tanks or something so it looks like it belongs next to the expanded starport.

PS: I would have really liked to see an Overlord class Dropship there instead of an aerodyne model :P

Excited to see new areas to fight, longer set up times for battles! More excited to see trees! Would have loved to see other weapon impacts on the trees, ballistics, energy, even missile or Artie strikes. This along with mechlab improvements makes me think that the future is bright!
