Now I gotta download MWO and see if I get the same error.

Side tips topic = no need to redownload entire MWO installation 6GB+
  • keep the old MWO installation folder, latest of whatever last obtained.
  • When needed, just copy the backup onto it's desired location,
  • or simply keep it NOT on default C:\
  • keep it on D:\ or whatever none windows partition
  • run MWO installer 60MB+ and POINT to that driver folder, eg D:\Program Files x86\Piranha Games\
  • and installation process will be done under 1 minute.
  • launch game (patch when needed)
  • if backup was too old, too many changes, simply run REPAIR_TOOLS.
Beats redownload entire 6GB+ everytime. I could even put it in a external hdd casing and bring it to a Cybercafe without MWO and run the game in 1 min.

Not forgetting a proper install from zero takes minutes on SSD, nearly 10s of minute of regular magnetics. This shortcut method sure saves a lot of time.

I just got that same error on a friends comp which i just reformated and reinstalled everything. What i did was on the log in screen there is a Cog wheel on the top right, click on it and set it to 32-bit. I also did the link that Cx5 posted before doing the change to 32bit. Hope this helps out.

I had the same problem after my SDD died on me. I fixed it with all the files mentioned above and finally installed
both vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64 on my computer.

I hope this works for you.
Good luck.

I just installed on a clean Win 10 Pro install - 64 bit. Upgraded to W10 first, as directed, then started from scratch and reinstalled clean OS. All updates current, installed MWO straight from download. patched. tried to start ... missing 3 files:
MSVCR100.dll, MSCVP100.dll, XINPUT1_3.dll. Ran DiagDx.exe. Running DirectX 12. Read a bunch of stuff.
Installed the C++ 2010 module direct from Microsoft here:
https://www.microsof...s.aspx?id=13523
this fixed first two files. Tried to use Microsoft link for DirectX9, but it said would not install on Win 10. Used CNET link and it worked fine.

all errors are gone, my game is running ... happy

They have dx9.0c in the game directory that works on Win10 if need, but not vc++ (They get around to removing features but not adding a necessary package to running the game).
