The 3V is interesting, but I haven't decided if it is effective yet.
I really did enjoy the 1M, mainly because I like the simplicity of it.
You can't say you have had the full Locust experience until you strap into a 1E - personally I prefer the small pulse laser loadout, but even stock with small lasers it can be a beast - first time I put 6 medium lasers in it, I cleared 500 damage and 3 kills; kinda freaked me out.

In this thread one person said that Locust must be a laser Locust, well,is here now. What do u think??? And have tag, for lrm mechs. I thought that my favorite Locust gonna be the 1V,well,watching this, that have same firepower and have a tag,i will prefer the 3M,just now i need to master basic skills of the 1M,for when i have all basics of 3 variants, master the elites of the 3M Its a good plan, dont u think????

Getting Locusts and skipping that one is like going to Paris for a week and only eating in McDonalds.

Its a 3M and did 3 kills and more than 500 dmg. The only thing that im going to change was the spl of the CT for a TAG. Maybe im more helpful for the team beign light mech tagger and who knows, maybe i do some kills too

See this image please (not that individual match results really prove anything):
You can do well with pretty much any mech if you're good or really lucky. It doesn't mean that the mech is great. The 3M is almost as good as 1E, but 1E has better hardpoints and better quirks for general use. I have both. I have no reason to downplay either of them.
You can put a TAG in if you want, but that requires you to stare at your target to keep that lock for your team's LRM boats, and Locusts that stare at their targets usually turn dead Locusts pretty fast. I'd just put a weapon in there and keep running.

Quad SRM2s works surprisingly well, it's the same payload as dual SRM4s but with a faster fire rate and a bit tighter grouping.
The SRM2x4 3S is my second favorite locust behind the 1E. In a good game it will have ammo trouble, but it's a blast to pilot. If it ever got an ammo quirk it would be even better.
I usually ditch the laser and half a ton of head armor for a third ton of ammo:
LCT-3S
Risky on paper, but I still almost never die to head shots. The ammo explosion or much easier torso shots will get me way before that happens.
I would like to see better grouping in SRM2s in general, though. The pattern seems a little too scattered for what it is.
