I like
--------------------------------
CW (it remains fun even though it needs a ton of work and the pay is great)
Orion (All the variants but mostly Kerensky's variant aka. the Protector)
Awesome (I love to use my 9M but the heat and giant hit-boxes)
Alpine Peaks and Boreal Vault (These maps are big & spacious and not too hard on the card)
Alex Iglesia's art (His artwork is amazing but imho a few details need changing on some mechs)
The gameplay and being able to play with mechs

-----------------------------------
I don't like
----------------------------------------------------------
the seemingly slow development this game is going through
iyla murmomets (i dislike this variant from day one in CB and dislike dealing with them)
firestarters (these things are game changers, also annoying to deal with and i hate to use it even though my unit loves them)
being chased by enemy teams
davions/clanners/mercenaries
the many uneccessary nerfs and ways of balancing in this game (Jump jet nerf)
hit detection issues
ghost heat
Gauss charge
the conflicted balancing this game is going through
that this is the only up to date game that involves battletech were you can shoot your targets up
-------------------------------------------------

what do you like and not like in this game?

IMO the game could be much better if it had a Battle Value system like tabletop. The matchmaker would probably be much improved. You'd have your own personal pilot BV, then the BV of your mech added together. Then the matchmaker would put two teams together regardless of number of players.

So a lot of the time there would be a different number of players on each team, but it would still be pretty even.

Then you could have different time periods. Succession Wars, Clan Invasion, Jihad, etc

To balance mechs, just tweak the BV. None of this buff/nerf cycle.

This game has the potential to be something epic, and I feel that the IP is not being fully explored.

Oh and it needs lance vs lance and 1v1 etc

I like the laser meta more than the PPFLD meta with PPCs and ACs blowing off legs and shoulders.
I dislike the current state of JJs but I also hate the poptart meta.
I like quirks but don't like negative quirks (even if we need them).
I dislike weak weapons (ac2, mg, flamer) seems like a waste.

I very much dislike the huge infestation of life-long participation trophy collectors and one-dimensional thinkers playing this game. Worse, many players are both.

I like
----------------------------------------------------------
  • Mech customization.
  • Graphics wise, it looks pretty good actually.
  • The great feeling of playing well.
  • PGI did the Urbanmech just for us.
  • UAV's.

I don't like
----------------------------------------------------------
  • The lacking presence of tactical gameplay. - It's constantly blobby/bottle necked.
  • The lack of deep, meaningful matches.
  • Alpine map.
  • The "twitchy"ness of the game at times.
  • A wrong turn and half your mech is blown to shreds before you realize the danger and can react. (incredibly discouraging to new player)
  • Community Warfare.
    • It's basic.
    • Implementation is clunky and slow.
    • Doesn't offer anything new to change how we play the game.
    • Still very blobbly.
    • Tactics change only slightly from solo queue: matches are reduced to rushes and camping.
    • It definitely has me wanting more, but I know that what I want isn't going to happen.
    • When I think about CW, I actually get depressed.
    • The failure to incorporate objectives to utilize the roles that certain mechs can perform.
  • Seeing players get tunnel vision and completely ignore their surroundings.
  • The lack of importance of Commanding players.
  • The infant state of the battle-grid and its very limited options/control/power commanders have.

In-between things
----------------------------------------------------------
  • Although I don't really like it, I like ghost heat. It's serving a purpose, although leaves some other glaring issues rampant.
  • Quirks have added something new to the game. I'm tossed between loving them and hating them.
  • I like friendly fire, but I don't like how it's not directly penalized in some way. I know that I have a very valid suggestion that addresses concerns about accidental kills, accidental damage, but punishes those who are ignorant to hurting their team mates. (Let me say this, the average team damage is below 15 damage per match. In some special matches, people have rose to around 25 damage in one match. That is where threshold friendly fire comes in, and any damage beyond this threshold is penalized. The threshold is set just above what would be considered common in a normal playing match, and damage below this is not penalized.) Mainly, the penalty is a psychological effect on those who need to be made aware that excessive carelessness is bad, and the penalty should serve as encouragement to improve and avoid unnecessary damage. Sorry for the rant on this. I feel strongly about this.

I Like:

- Mech Artwork, most mechs are very well done.
- Animations (even if some aspects would be perfectible)
- It is an overall fun MWish game

I Dislike:

- Current balance
- Approach to balance
- Weird solutions for balance
- Slow reactivity to balance issues
- Failure to acknowledge some balance issues
- Pet items (see ECM) creating balance issues for how long now?
- Addressing balance issues by adding more extreme counters
- Sensors implementation
- LRMs implementation
- SSRM implementation
- LBX implementation
- Flamer implementation
- Most sounds
- Lack of features well established in previous MW games
- Client instability, CW is not playable because continuous crashes
- Most maps layout
- Maps artwork (weird buildings, weird colours, etc).
- Game modes
- Short missions (15 or 30 minutes)

I especially dislike:
- Ghost heat
- Quirks
- Perfect convergence
- Hit detection aka bad netcode
- The idea that IS and Clan technologies should be balanced

I like the core game. Also small things like AMS toggle, missile bay doors, etc.

I dislike almost everything else, from the way matchmaking is done over map hitboxes to the fact that boating is the best way to outfit your mech.

Like:

+ The ability to join another game without having to wait for match to end.
+ The attempt to make this a game

Dislike:

- Pretty much EVERYTHING else:
-- CW is stillborn fetus.
-- ECM EVERYWHERE.
-- Small (tiny) maps that belong in counter strike, not in a game with building sized walking vehicles.
-- Extremely shallow gameplay. (No, torso twisting is NOT 'complex' gameplay gimmick).
-- Basically only 3 gamemodes (4 if you count the frankenstein that is CW).
-- All of the aformentioned gamemodes are basically just team deathmatch and nothing more.

List could go on forever.

what i like.
pretty much everything related to mech art work.
and well the fact that we have a mechwarrior out agian.

what i dislike.
every form of implementation, they seem to want to make a game that caters to battletech fans on their pricing etc absurd prices for the novelty of owning a specific mech. yet they balance like the previous mechwarrior games and battletech did not exist, and its not those fans playing their game and paying the most for their mechs. i didn't play battletech the board game, just downloaded mektek 3 months ago. but seeing all the issues they try to skirt starting with double armor and now going on to quirks it makes me wonder why they dont get that mechwarrior was balanced in two ways, one way with economic systems like battle value, and the other way with heat/weight/damage/range they do one but they cant do the other with their current profit model and its rather sad.

basically the game is not mechwarrior besides the fact that it uses ip from mechwarrior in a shooter. and it never can be unless they monetize the game differently.

Ok, I'll go 3 and 3:
----------------------------
I like:
-Art and visuals: the work PGI and Alex have done with the mechs is great. Watching huge mechs slug it out is what makes me want to play over and over again.
-Gameplay: i just love the way this game plays out. It's very tactical, even if some people think otherwise.
-Costumization: I greatly enjoy tuning my mechs to my liking, changing around small things, tweaking weapons, adjusting weapon groups. After a while, you feel like you really "get" the mech and can make it work at 100% effectivness.
----------------------------
I dislike:
-CW: I'm sorry, but i find the implementation just boring. You either camp and trade or rush something (generator or spawn), with little to no manouvers involved (it's not like there are multiple ways to get to a generator). It's basically a DOTA game (and i hate DOTA games), and it's even worse because it's asymmetrical, which leaves even less choices. I would have loved a "tug of war" style gamemode with spawns being pushed back and forth, repair and rearm bays, and AI tanks and infantry giving players something to shoot at while there are no enemy mechs around (similarly to Titanfall). Just imagine that for a moment.
-the economy: rewards need to be adjusted a bit. I hate when I get an awesome match and get little rewards for i don't know what reasons. I don't want more money. I just want to be rewarded for a job well done: when you get a 600+ damage game you want to get more than 100K c-bills. It's all I'm asking for.
-NPE: it's not about the difficulty. I've seen harder learning curves. It's about the absolute lack of background and context. It's just bad that new players recive no information on why we are even fighting in a setting with loads of lore and history.
A simple tutorial with a "Merc Instructor" explaining the mechanics and trowing out some lore or something like that is all that is needed. I can't belive that it's not here yet.

Edit: also invisible walls. F*** invisible walls.

I'm just here for the chicks.

I like that the game has awesome potential and the mechs are good artwork.

I dislike that the awesome potential has been wasted into a F2P cash grab scheme with lack of true content like quality maps and role warfare. and the regression of graphic quality.

I like the actual game play. (sure there are lots of stuff that could be better)

I dislike the fact that the game play has no impact on anything. (cbills are meaningless at a point unless you wanna collect mechs and regardless you always gain cbills win or lose, and owning/losing a planet is meaningless)
