If it makes you feel any better, the match was over so fast that the Dire Wolf on our side never got to fire a shot either. ;)

What was most interesting about the match pictured is it was on RIVER CITY. The Alpine match after this went the same way, but that's nothing special.

Actually, had a great match on that Vitric Forge map, involving LRMs.
Right off the bat, someone spoke up in Chat saying they had Narc. We had a Fire Team Lance of LRM based mechs that got shuffled together by whoever had lead. Being Clan, it was mostly Lasers with an LRM strapped on somewhere, but still a Full Lance of Mostly Missiles (LMM?). But what made it work was the target location calling over comms, and that our volunteer leader knew the map well enough to call firing positions.

Everytime we pushed in, the Team Leader got us to setup in a spot that would have clear fire lanes to the target location. Hammer it with missiles, and the Front-Liners cleaned up. This was PuG vs PuG in the recent CW event btw. The reason it worked was that someone knew what they were doing and (for a surprise) everyone mostly listened. This was despite heavy ECM Presence by the defending IS team. The Narcer hit the right targets, the LRMs saturated the are with missiles, and then we'd push forward.

Teamwork is OP.

yup...that is correct.

however, you should have had more than 2-3 ECM mechs if it was going to make a difference
the narc user usually scans thoroughly to spot any ecms before he starts wasting his narcs. First narc is always for the ecm carrier.

Hellbringers are the slowest commonly used ECM mechs, at 90kph.. youd have to be pretty bad at the game not to go park yourself behind a nice tall building pretty fast once you get Narced, especially now we get a big red warning.

Unless its Caustic or Alpine that is, NARC is a death sentence there if there are a lot of lurms..

Narcing ECM mech has 2 benefits... 1 - to destroy the ecm mech in the open, and 2- to counter it when it is behind something but his friends are in the open for the main narcs


Thats why i say at least 2 to 3 ecm mechs are required to completely neutralize narc.

nothing really... just the aftermath of a narc/lurm only team vs a team with no ecm... in a map that is not lurm friendly.

a few matches like that apparently cause the creation of this topic.

Always happens to me on caustic, no ECM for us and 6 boats on the other side.

Bonus points for the team nascarring into the bases view and porviding their own spots for the enemy, while crying about LRM being OP.

a bunch of mercs rolfstomping a 10 man (possibly 12 but it looks like a 10/2 to me) 12-0. altho our end is a bit decieving im pretty sure we had at least 6 players in our merc group in that drop.

I think it is a good illustration of how proper teamwork and tactics are the decisive factor in a battle.
