I was asking about what it would take to upgrade my comp, and thanks to Dober and a few other people I cant remember the name of, I think I have everything all set up for MWO (Might be buying a new case to put everything in though)

My system Specs now are as follows (Not a detailed list, just the basics.)

Processor: AMD A6-3620 APU
RAM: 10 Gb
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7770
OS: Windows 7
Direct X 11

I think im pretty much set, might buy a new motherboard later on so I can add a bit more over time.
But for now (And at least 6-7 more months) this is what ive got.

Thanks again to Dober and everyone else who helped me get to this point, I couldnt have done it without you guys.

*edit*

I also had to buy a new PSU, and this is the one I got http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817182032
Probably overkill, but it will do nicely for future upgrades.

Sounds good, Krogoth, although the memory configuration is a little weird (is it 2x4GB + 2x1GB?)

That's not a good way to go, that setup can lead to RAM instability unfortunately.

Hmm..well then, ill have to prevent that, what suggestions do you have for that sort of thing?

Yeah, RAM can be funny, Id go with 4 2's if your budgeting, just get all the same.

Your best bet is a dual channel set of the same RAM. 2X4GB is the way to go right now.

Yeah no. While balanced, you place less strain on the memory controller to use just two DIMMS, plus it is generally cheaper to use two 4GB DIMMs.

How many ram slots do you have? If only 4 I would ditch one 2gig stick and hold onto it incase one of the others fails. 2 2gigs paired and the lone 4gig by itself. 8gigs is plenty.

Also if they are all not the same speed, have the fastest one closest to the processor (I think that is universal).

Yeah, 2 4's is what I have. I'm assuming the OP doesn't have funds to visit newegg

Not at the moment no, have to wait until the beginning of next month for that.

Which leads to my next question, when does this normally become an issue, how much time do I have before my comp messes up?

Your computer is not going to "mess up." - the only reason that oddball memory configuration would be a problem is if you're overclocking.

Your memory won't work as fast as it could, though.

I'd probably return a 2 and a 4 and stick with (2x2) 4GB for now.

Can always add two more DIMMs later for $8 apiece.
