Any chance we could see the MWO Mech Designs turned into tabletop miniature versions by Ironwind Metals?

Probably not going to happen, but it would be cool.

...and some of the existing miniatures don't?

Seriously, I am all for some ugly mechs (they are endearing), and I think Battletech has more than its fair share of ugly mechs,
but the MWO designs look great, and I would love to see some of them on the tabletop.

If i just pick the Catapult and look at the C4 Variant (best looking imho)
http://www.camospecs...ure.asp?ID=3782
and compare it to the MWO variant i would pick the c4.
The hips in MWO looks all the same, just some stuff less or more on other Mechs, also they are extremly wide. The only thing that couldn't be worser is the Jenner :P
The others are just..meh.
I don't know why every MW/MC Designer has to change the original Mechs. The ppl from Games Workshop don't have the problems with Warhammer etc.
Call the Mechs a new variant or create "new" Mechs but leave the old ones as they are for years.

I'd love it if MWO inspired Ironwind to crank out some new metal.

I´d be happy if Ironwind started making their existing line of minis properly. Sometimes it seems like they don´t use enough metal to fill the form or don´t put the two halves of the form together properly. It´s nothing that a good paintjob can´t conceal, at least partly, but it is annoying when your new Duan-Gung just looks a bit off.
That said, I´d love them to at least do the models that are significant aesthetic upgrades (Stalker, I´m looking at you).

That's funny, I have been asking the exact same thing. I think the new designs are outstanding!
I would love to see the MWO designs up on the gaming table.

I would't mind seeing this happen. At the very least it would give me more options to kitbash with.

For enough money, IWM will cast a mini. What the TT players do is get a group of players together pool their money and they each get so many minis, then everyone else get to buy the mini for regular price.

nice work, would be nice if PGI would sell models of the mechs about ten times that size :)

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Mektek had one of there own mechs (the Deimos) produced in pewter by ironwind themselves, which looks really great by the way. Mektek was community donation funded.. im sure it wouldnt be out of the question for MWO in the future. Actualy i think it would make sense as a business option. 3D molds are getting easier all the time... plus none of the BT junkies would be able to resist :(
Linky for Deimos..

Ironwind Metals should set up a Kickstarter if they are dubious about how much demand there would be. I'm sure it would succeed rather easily.

What method did you use to produce these?

The problem with producing MWO mechs isn't demand or money, it's copyright. Those designs that get fan funded are either original designs or official Catalyst designs that hadn't gotten slated for production. IWM can't just decide "Hmm, that's a nice looking mech, let's sell a few thousand of them." I know that there were issues about making the MW4 mechs years ago. Something about how much Microsoft wanted to charge I believe. With any luck IWM and PGI could work out something reasonable, but I have no idea.

Hopefully somebody can work it out. i could certainly stand to expand my collection.
