Out of all the Unseen, the toughest for me to get ANY traction on have been the Stinger/Wasp/Phoenix Hawk triplets.

Just too hard to capture their feel without going full Macross.

Anyhow was doodling this afternoon, and finally hit on one I like, for the stinger, though it's a WIP, obviously.

What I would like is some critiques? Is it too Macross? Too Gundam? Etc.

Somethings, like the head, are intentionally a little small, more for aesthetics than anything, though my cockpit design basically goes slightly into the"perceived" torso. But it's supposed to be like a broom closet in the cockpit.

Waist is tiny to preserve the feel, but also because they are so lightly armored it kinda gives that look (IMO) of agility at the expense of fragility. It's a mech better suited for Garrison and Riot duty than fighting other mechs.

So thoughts, opinions, advice?

The legs are too similar to macross, but I have no idea how else they should look.

Yeah....kinda where I get stuck, I have tried tons of blockier, and a few more rounded and they just lose the feel entirely so far. :(

Maybe something a little more INgram 98...or go real wild and go a little Heavy Gear?

The Stinger IIC does a good job.

Yours looks way better than the one in the link.

thanks! I uh... really dislike the Reseen Stinger and Wasp, so that IIC based off the Reseen doesn't do it for me. Just feel that a lot of the Phoenix designs and their progeny don't feel particularly Battletechy. Not sure mine does, either though. But if I can ever get the legs sorted, maybe it will.

Thought the IIC is a little cloer to the unseen than that reseen we got suck with. If they make it any closer, HG lawyers starts screaming like little girls.

If you make the lower torso a little wider and boxer, the legs wont look as big. You won't need to change anything else

Killer work by the way.

The only TT mech I have nostalgia for, I don't even care if it would work in MWO...I want it. Good work, Bishop.

Stingers and Urbies were fun for my city/garrison campaign. Stinger might not be much of a threat to other mechs, but it's rather frightening to be infantry and have one come for you. That campaign is actually where I came up with my 8 MG/2 Flamer Vulcan, as it was the pet ride for the planetary warlords chief of security in my Chaos March campaign. Players were all either retired or dispossessed or otherwise cashiered and mechless Davionists during and after Operation Guerrero. Starting an underground resistance, then slowly building, "Mercenary Star/Gray Death" style an armed insurrection against a very very vile tyrant.
