Nope, they would make scouts obsolete, and the maps probably aren't gonna be big enough to do them justice.

Recalling the combined arms rules circa the original CityTech and AeroTech, atmospheric flight each movement point was equivalent to traveling one entire foldout map that the mechs would be fighting on. So if we were to assume that forest environment for the videos were one or even two TT maps in size, you would need a much, much larger playable airspace to accommodate air combat. So the rules for the environment make it difficult to include them and balance them, along with LAMs being Robotech ripoffs and very largely unnecessary.

Ignoring the knee-jerk responses as usual, keep in mind their main contribution lore-wise: they are a reminder of how advanced the Star League was and how much has been lost.

Beyond that, they never have been - and probably never will be - even remotely common in the setting. So don't worry about them being part of MWO.

Personally I love these things, not because of robotech, but because they would anihilate anythiong in the TT if they were played correctly =) =) =) I'd love to pilot on in MW:O I do however have a hard time imagining how they could/would be implemented, not to mention the gazillion new controls

Can be fun, if done right.

I once made a Crab LAM for the TT game (even carved up a mini for it), but LAMs are not something I'd ever expect to see in MWO.

I think that they would be a challenge to pilot, plus given how vulnerable they are because of their conversion mechanisms. I wouldn't expect them to be common and they are notoriously hard to maintain. I like how they are relics of a more advanced era and are quite unique in the Battletech universe.

LAMS are EXTREMELY rare and a bear to repair. There's too much common gear that should be included first.

NO. If they turn this game into Ace Combat with flying Mechs I'll be quitting immediately.

Erm... there is a difference between wanting something that has unusual capabilities, such as being able to sustain flight, but if it is badly armored, even worse equipped in weaponry, and able to be disabled in a single mode by a single shot? Give me quads, but let the LAMs die. Costly, no clearly defined role, and weak.

To fly with a Mech need Place. I think the Battle Areas are to small. ;)

I know LAM are relatively rare, but during the current time there is still a plant producing Wasp LAMs (or is it Stinger LAMs). I know that there are plenty of other more common mechs to field but just to have one to take out every once in a while would be fun and the maps do look big enough to use them in.

The LAMs are too unstable, too glitchy and about as reliable as a match underwater. I for one hope to never see one, unless its a static display in some urban environment.

Aaaahrg, please noooo. LAM's are the most awful thing ever to happen to the MW universe. They look plain idiotic. They wouldn't fly. Ever.

I want them unseen or reseen, perferably unseen but just to be able to be so mobile on the battlefied would be awesome. Gimme, gimme, gimme... ;)

the entire concept of lams was directly stolen from macross. macross owns anything that flies and turns into a walking mech sorry.
