I am beginning to think we are in two different brackets and because of this you do not see the balancing issues a lot of us other players do.

I have dropped with plenty of PGI staff. None of them were noteworthy. Sure, they can get a kill or two and do around 200 damage, but that's about it. Do they have any tryharder at all?

I've dropped with pretty much every forum tryhard. With the exception a few with tags like EMP or LORDs, none were noteworthy.


So what does that tell you?

I always believe that those who have Economics, or Political Science, or International Relations degrees should run the country--not a bunch of lawyers.

I for one would love to see a quick normal distribution of MWO's Elo, with the devs marked along it.

On second thought, the devs probably all have terrible Elos, because they don't play group queue together (and when they do, they don't tend to exactly roflstomp other groups). I've long suspected that doing well in solo queue doesn't raise Elo very well, and some of what we've heard from Russ lately seems to confirm that.

Why? So we can use it to point out a lack of qualification in making balance decisions?

I'd put more faith in the match data and metrics they have.

Yeah, Ive dropped against Lords, SA, MS, SWOL, CWI, CWDG, 228, and all those clan tags and im sure all of them have better stats then me and are better then me at the game......elo is a joke....there secretly is no elo or MM factors, its just...24 players, and go!

Realistically, skill in the game doesn't translate into game design chops at all. They are totally different things.

Just like why you wouldn't ask a fighter pilot to build a jet.

I'd far rather a game designer with access to actual metrics handle it thanks.

This topic is based on the fallacy that players actually have different Elo scores, when the devs have fundementally admitted that Elo is meaningless because the system doesn't work. Players' scores more or less just start wherever their skill level actually is and works over to the middle and stays there.

So I imagine the dev pool scores would be distributed more or less like the general population, with the vast majority sitting right at the middle, with a very few outliers sitting 10% higher or lower.

Seems my point went over your head too. If you looked at my post, you will see that I mentioned that MWO staff are not impressive. I asked whether they have a tryharder or not.

Game designer with actual metrics huh? Guess that's why Flamers are useless for all this time. Must have been OP. Same deal with LBX, and Machine gun.

Well they only have to test, im sure most if not all have access to all hardware mechs / weapons and modules in the game
So they dont have to grind hence dont put the hours in some of us do.
