I'd like to see a module that prohibits onboard weapons from firing unless their target is within the effective range of the weapon.

a switch between, open mode (cna be shot all the time) ranged mode (anything until max range) and short mode (only within 100% damage range) would be nice. Would help especially the new players who still try to hit stuff wit green beams at 1000m
