This is a very basic idea. Some people don't like the crosshairs, DMG readout, etc. So PGI ought to consider offering options to make the HUD in your mech yours. Maybe it'd just be different crosshairs, maybe more. Whatever our options end up being, I think this is worthwhile.

I was messaging Tina and while Pgi is currently only looking at customizable geometry (it's a big project), she would pass on this idea along with customizable mech hangers to the art team.

Iqfish & TMC made these. Hopefully they give an idea of what I'm talking about with custom HUD.

Pgi should also include a few options for free to help color blind folks. The things that cost MC should be things like target reticules & premium colors, etc.

I just saw in AW's custom geo. thread about some things being earned thru achievements. I'd even go so far as to say that these options should be mostly exclusive to MC & achievements.

There is something i'd like to see in the cockpit, but if it was implemented it would have to be for all mechs and that is-
Seismic Sensor reading shown on our in cockpit monitors along with a zoomed in version of the map that shows the surroundings 200 meters around our mechs.
Of course there should be rings that indicate how far away the Seismic contacts are too on the monitor.

Those monitors would finally have a proper meaningfull function and they would give more individuality to our mechs.
Some mechs would have ideally placed monitors that are easy to keep an eye on while fighting while others got big monitors.

Hmm that would be pretty awesome. It might be best to have an option for "immersive HUD" and "arcade/regular HUD" though.

HUD customisation is actually one of the things I'm suprised we don't allready have..

Even old-school Unreal had the option of changing hud color and crosshair..

In MWO, HUD customisation would be a wellcome feature.. I'd like to be able to modify crosshairs, and other stuff..

But what I want most..

Is to put stuff on that ACTIVE TRACKING: NO screens!

Those are SOOO ugly its not even funny.. Props to the designers, but cockpits that have them simply feel "unfinished", like those pictures are placeholders for something else..

It would be great if they displayed anything from actual in-game data to just a similar "fake" data.. anything would be better..

Like my seismic sensor idea. But i think a more detailed readout on your mechs damage is also a good idea.
Graphs like in the old days that shows much more accuratly how much armor you have left in each part of your mech.
Ammo and heatsink locations is a good thing too. Rear view camera.

I've been thinking about a personalized hud idea for a while now, plus it makes sense that a mechwarrior would build a HUD to his/her specs.

This one is tricky. I voted yes, but for CBills only. Of course it depends on what kind of customization, but I imagine the ability to rearrange locations of items. We don't want an MC only customization that moves one of the screens that gives a better view.... That sort of thing.

Hmmm I hadn't really thought about it that way. Personally, I've never had an issue with visibility in any of my mechs except the Grasshopper, which is caused by the side mounted cockpit.

So I wouldn't be overly worried about it but I did vote "mc & some cbill options".

There's no punishment. We're talking about optional features, some of which would be available for cbills/free ideally.

We've done a lot of work on selfmade HUDs in the past and people seemed to like it. We got more stuff like that upcoming.

I really like this Idea! I'm also on board with the other customization options.

However! I do have a caveat that the HUD shouldn't be monetized with MC, because it has much more of an impact on performance than the other cusomization options (potentially excluding a scary Atlas face).

Decluttering your HUD and improving visibility or functionality shouldn't be behind a pay wall.
