Bad Feedback About New Forest Colony

Hi,

I hate new forest colony because:
  • too many destructible trees . It seems that they block my hits, they reduce visibility, when I hit a tree with a mech there is a little FPS drop.
  • scale is ridiculous, destructible trees are very small and they seem shrubs, other trees are so huge.... too huge
  • too trap places that block my no JJ mechs

Colors are fine.

new forest colony is a beautiful thing, yes, it's a thing......not a mwo map.
bad things:
forced short range because of POOR map-landscape design
too many trees blockign everything
trees not getting burnt by lasers, seriously?

KEEP ALL OLD MAPS IN THE ROTATION AND INSTEAD OF TRASHING THEM, LOWER THEIR RATE OF PLAY. THE OLD MAPS HAD THEIR CHARM!

Old forest colony, especially the snow variant, was my least favourite map. I'd say leave them in, but only for private matches.

No one is going to like ALL maps..EVER.. but that's no reason to trash them.. leave them in the rotation until there is a healthy supply of maps to play.

The old maps are bad for 12v12 public queue games. They were never designed to have so many mechs on them. I can't imagine going back and playing on old River City now, it'd just be too painful.

Ok and by the same token the new maps are too large for 12v12, but despite these size discrepancies, the maps are still enjoyable in their own way. The small maps have their charm and make for a good brawling map.. many I play with agree.

Bring back the original smaller maps.. there is NOTHING wrong with maps that force you to brawl instead of hide and snipe. Hell, make em SMALLER!

BRING BACK FOREST COLONY 1.0 and RIVER CITY 1.0.

Are the old maps going to be used in CW for the scout lance applications? 4V4 would be perfect for them, but a huge map playing 4v4 does have it's charm.

Now Alpine making it like forest colony would be a shame. There is so much of that map that has interesting uses that most people never use, well at least until they are the last one alive and find out that some areas have great defensive qualities.

I understand how you feel Daedalos, but the old maps are not coming back in any way or forums because a Founders poll decided that Forest colony should be reworked, and others inquired that River city should be one map instead of two.

True, Forest+Snow was a painful mess, the new one has to be polished, tho.

This is because of all the QQ from Atlas ownes who whined that it took too long to reach the battle. Original spawn points were at the current gamma and sigma, with the cap points spread accross the map. I say, bring back the OLD spwawn/cap points as Alpine 1.0 and keep the current map as Alpine 1.5.

What they should have done was just make more maps of varying sizes and then start having 4 v 4 matches, 8 v 8 matches, 12 v 12 matches, and (dare I say it) 16 v 16 matches.

EDIT: Forest Colony before the update was a miserable 12 v 12 map because it was just too small. It was an ok 8 v 8 map back when the game was 8 v 8 and it would have made a fantastic 4 v 4 map IMO

Sadly, forest colony is pretty bad. It looks pretty, but everyone always funnels into the exact same grid, and the firing lines are terrible. Getting stuck on ****/**** blocking my shots is what everyone hates about Viridian. It's the same issue here.

yup , i agree with Thastus. Every game is fought in the same 4 squares, beautiful map but pgi could have just made a 4 square map and saved them selves the hassle ;)

I've already said my feedback in the other topic.
1. Small logs that prevent walking.
2. The spawn points are too far. 19.1 'Mechs are taking forever to get into action. They also run into logs, and you cannot reverse in them; so, you have to turn around, walk away, turn again, and walk around.
