Are you serious!? I just switched from a FX6300 to a 4790K and I get well over 100fps on every map, regardless of what is going on! Try looking elsewhere for your problem, because that processor is certainly not it. Look at your GPU.

Update: Figured out what was causing the issue.

1) Realtek Equalizer for the 1150 audio chip... As soon as i clicked "disable all sound effects" and set the sample rate to 16bit 48000 the stuttering was gone. I've found this on other forums with people experiencing stuttering so its something all should look into. Driver was up to date but it seems some games (including mwo) don't like custom effects and sample rates.

2) With the smoothness problem sorted i still felt i should get more fps so i downgraded my video driver from 15.7.1 to 15.7.0 and that gave me 60fps no matter what was on screen.

These 15.7.1 AMD drivers are mainly for project cars but it seems they cause problems in some games (mostly MMOs)

If there is a huge brawl i drop to high 60s low 70s now, i doubt anyone can mantain over 100fps in some situations - maybe with Skylake's reverse HT. The average i would say is somewhere around 100 - 110fps depending on map.

Hope this helps other users: TLDR - > disable custom sound fx like EQ and sample rate/check gpu drivers
